Cosgrove's Open Mic Night Review, by Ken Hume
"......[The] spontaneity was very much in evidence on the 28th of August when, approaching the end of the night the slightly inebriated foursome of The Rimmelines unexpectedly took to the stage. I don’t know whether it was the late hour; divine inspiration; high level of intoxication; the mood of the crowd or a delicious combination of all 4 elements but the young lads from Pullough; Tullamore and Ballycumber respectively pulled out a pulsating and inventive performance. It combined a clever mix of their own compositions such as the melodic “Streetlights”; “Fluorescent Adolescent” and their 3rd song all of which just wreaked with witty lyrics and a maturing; irresistible sound with an audaciously rocked up yet surprisingly successful version of RATM’s “Killing in the Name of” and a cheery; fun version of the anthemic Kings of Leon hit “Fans” and a version of Oasis‘ “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. Lead singer Nial Colbert certainly possesses a strong voice; potent song writing skills & a Liam Gallagher like swagger while lead guitarist Daniel Coffey plays with a quite confidence in and let’s his guitar do the talking.
I know I seem to be doing things in reverse order this time around but this is no way puts the other performers down but rather magnifies the inspired set of The Rimmelines........"0 Comments 243 weeks

1989
He said a little crazy
Maybe they want a change
they call him superman
they’ll get him filled with rage
They want that little sleazy that little cow left home
That little Lois lane she hasn’t found a home
They said a Little sleazy
I want my backroom too
They call you superman
now go rescue you
While you come and bring him back, come and bring him back
You are the one, the only one out there
And Lois lane she’s not mary jane
So wake up superman
Wake up tonight
Tonight’s the night that you’ll save the world
I said something so crazy
I almost lost my mind
I nearly said I love you just for the second time
And then you turned around and
You walked right out that door
No one ever said something about the things they know
It’s 1989 I’m alright
It’s 1989 she’s all mine
It’s 1989 I’m alright
It’s 1989 she’s all mine
But you come and bring him back come and bring him back
You are the one the only one out there
Lois lane you’re not Mary Jane
So wake up superman
Rescue tonight
