- Heather Graham, living in the country, video games (especially Smash Brothers), quiet yet painfully funny nights out with friends, jamming, those blissful moments in songs you wait for that can't be described, any Yeah Yeah Yeahs track where Karen O yelps 'hey!', because it instantly makes any song 3.7 times better, staring into fan-heaters, drinking tea in the kitchen until all hours, random hypotheticals, fruit smoothies, juggling, terrible puns delivered with perfect timing, the general feeling of being awake at 5am, quirky anime type films, clouds and jet streams, nice scenery/landscapes/soundscape
s, nostalgia for old school days, and many other things which don't spring to mind right now. - Things I dislike.Go away!
- Ticket touts (grrr.), all kinds of fights/confrontations, time away from friends, niteclubs, tabloid newspapers, text messaging, coldness in others, litter.. ah yes, Jade Goody (I hope she recovers, but she's not at all likeable at all, not in the slightest.) Boring soulless music outselling genuinely good and innovative musicians.. Oh and those celebrities who name their children silly things like Princess Chicago Geldof-Beckham or whatever it is. (A plague on your houses.)
There are more serious wordly injustices and such and such which I dont like, but now's not the time for such heaviness. - Scared Of
- Getting old... and knives. Away with you, foul creatures.
- In the new year, I'll be saying yes to:
- Drinking much less while going out more and getting my social on, while also spending more time in the library. With the learnings, even.
- College down around town.
- 2nd year Computer Science in Trinity. We are the Electric Chemists.

Oh no.
Oh yes, even.
This age brings with it lots of things.
It's really weird knowing your teenage years are finished with and that's that. It had been coming with a long time of course, but it's a whole new chapter of life begun in one moment, and I'm sorry that last one is gone. It's all change now, it's not really youth anymore, or a least youth as I'm used to thinking of it. No lingering ties to childhood, all grown up now. Which is all great of course, just it's a scary transition.
Yes yes, a new chapter of life. A whole new book, nearly. The next ten years will be spent getting a degree and deciding on a career, maybe deciding on where I'm going to live for the best part of my life. Which is a big step up from the decisions I've been making over the last 10 years. 19 seemed much more sheltered from having to think about those things so much. Not that having to think about those things is bad in any way, just they're big decisions and the day I have to make them seems to be approaching much more quickly now.
Being less than 20 was like a safety bubble, and that bubble is gone now. Which is alarming. But on the other hand, there is more potential and freedom in these years.
Hmmm... can't really express what I want to say properly.. maybe I got it across.

Doctor Who Christmas Special, Mark II
Better!
Lack of Kylie Minogue, or any special guest star who isn't a proper actor/ess, was a clear step in the right direction. This will not be a rant, more a polite clap converted into text format.
Points on the good side:
-Good plot
-Good acting (a bun for you, David Morrissey)
-Good laughs
-Good it is by comparison to last year. I'm looking at you, Kylie Minogue.
Points on the bad side:
-Bad it is to have the Cybermen as the bad guys again and again and again. Less of that, lads.
-Bad it is that The Doctor did not summon the Power Rangers Zord thing to battle the giant Cyberman. It would have been an amazing fight/plot twist to find that the Doctor Who/Power Rangers universes are actually the one and the same. Massive storyline potential.
-Bad it is that it wasn't amaaaaaazing. Runaway Bride is still the benchmark here, I feel.

Since I was at the absolute peak of my Pink Floyd obsession back then, Roger Waters is still probably the most enjoyable (incredible, amazing, spectacularrrrrr) gig I've ever had the good fortune to attend. (For the time being at least, after I see MBV at Electric Picnic all bets are off and my grading curve gets a serious retuning..
