Neo-Marxism was a 20th century school that harkened back to the early writings of Marx before the influence of Engels which focused on dialectical idealism rather than dialectical materialism, and thus rejected the perceived economic determinism of the late Marx, focusing instead on a non-physical, psychological revolution. It was thus far more libertarian and related to strains of anarchism. It also put more of an emphasis on the evils of global capitalism. Many prominent Neo-Marxists such as Marcuse were sociologists and psychologists. It was bound up with the student movements of the 1960s. Neo-Marxism comes under the broader heading of New Left thinking. Neo-Marxism is also used frequently to describe the opposition to inequalities experienced by Lesser Developed Countries in the New Economic International Order. In a sociological sense, neo-Marxism adds Max Weber's broader understanding of social inequality, such as status and power, to Marxist philosophy.

Fundementals of Neo Marxism
Neo Marxism is a form of social democracy and is a political ideology that emerged in the late 19th century out of the socialist movement. Unlike socialism in the Marxist sense, which aims to replace the capitalist system entirely, we aim rather to reform capitalism in order to remove its perceived injustices. Social democracy should be achieved by democratic means rather than the military revolutions envisioned by Marx in his later years. Political activism, intellectual rebellion and civil disorder is the preferred means of political change instead of violence.0 Kommentare 927 Tage

Petar Jovanovic40 Wochen herby imaginary money i mean credit (mostly by massive firms. they are basically the reason we're stuffed)
-
Petar Jovanovic40 Wochen herI've been missin' out on good old neo-marxism discussions for a while now!
anyways... i think recent world events have shown us how unstable and unpredictable capitalism is! the market does not regulate itself efficiently and if it wasn't for government intervention half of the developed world would be on the verge of bankruptcy... a vicious cycle of borrowing and spending imaginary money (i.e. not physical money) on a large scale will only result in a situation in which debts have outnumbered income, and to repay that debt more imaginary money is borrowed! this is exactly what happened and soon enough we may see deflation (then we're stuffed for good) resulting in massive job losses and reduction in living standards. Too much blood has been sucked from the worker and too much capital has been misused!!!!!!!!!!
goes to show... if the government had more control it would stop lending and spending on such a massive scale and we wouldn't be in the shithole we are now! -
Irish Nationalism41 Wochen herThe Wildcat strikes must really gall all the Leftwhingers on this page?
With a stiff mid-finger aimed at the Judas Labour government, we see White Britons prepared to stand up against the importation of second-rate foreign workers!!!
Its sad however that its only the heavily unionised industries that are able to display there opposition in this way.
Most foreign workers occupy positions that are paid minimum wage, and have been pushing the indiginous populace out of such jobs for years!
Unfortunately work at this wage-strata has no representation amongst the unions, and yet its the one that's suffered the greatest number of incursions by cheap foreign workers.
Well done to the strikers! -
.Wolfe.46 Wochen herah yeah but they teach us how to answer essay questions rather than speak the language...it does more harm than good
-
Cool Jerk46 Wochen herNone of yis know me but
I think it's important to learn your native language whether it's a "dead" language or not. The reason it's a dead language is because we were forced to speak English instead. I don't speak Irish very well, but I try and I'd love to be fluent, cos I'm damn proud of me heritage!
-
.Wolfe.48 Wochen heryeah i've been learning it for 12 years and i'm better at german which i've only been learning for 3 years...but then i want to learn german...
-
.Wolfe.48 Wochen hergeorgia: i have 3 things to say:
1. who's running for an election?
2. and apparently the main objective of communism is equality(or at least that's what i know of it)
3. "what difference would it make?" that's not a good attitude...every little helps
louis: students are forced to learn the irish language in ireland even though it's a dead language and i think it's a complete waste of time because very few people still speak it (and they are fluent in english anyway) -

Georgii49 Wochen herI must disagree, I can't see how they could ever mix together lol. A democracy is where the people govern, and have the power to elect, and where the people can subsequently vote out/in different political parties, whereas a Communist system would generally involve only one person or party ruling over the people (eg. dictatorship? The state controls the people) I guess you could say, Capitalism takes individuals into consideration, but Communism sees all people as one.
What I think is strange is why we even bother with politics. Like seriously, wtf, why do we all care so much, the world is fucked regardless of what we do lol, why bother for :|
Clara, if you had the chance to vote right now, who would you vote for? -
.Wolfe.50 Wochen herhmm...i don't think democratic communism is very contradictory. i mean communism is only a economic structure (or whatever it's called) so you can elect different communist parties because they might have different policies
i'm a sort of anarchist. trouble is i don't think anarchy can really work, so i'm more of a libertarian these days. you do need a certain amount of laws so we don't all kill each other or rob each other's morning papers. some people disagree but that's just my opinion. i'm also too young to vote -

Georgii
Not sure to be honest, I'd say I'm center-left atm, then again, I don't want to spread the wealth lol, and I'm not completely keen on the philosophy of Harm Reduction. So idk, I doubt I am ever going to vote for those reasons
I like the idea of Marxism, not it's application, which is where I think we got into arguments. I'm sure it could have worked in 19th century Europe where people routinely starved on the streets, but what Marx saw as a suitable system for back then certainly wouldn't work now. Basically, i like the idea, yet hate that same idea ever being enforced.
What would you say you are Clara?
And when you say "Democratic Communist", doesn't that completely contradict itself? Like there two different systems :|
-
.Wolfe.51 Wochen heryay!!!
i have a question:
so, are you people democratic communists or what? -

.Wolfe.52 Wochen herthus there is not much difference between us...

my apologies for calling you stupid
i tend to lose temper, but i am not a complete idiot...i'm just a bit above average at school and still learning german and irish, can't speak them fluently yet
lets make peace
what do you say to that sister georgia? lol

The existance in weather or not god is real is not relavent. He is an all mighty being and one of the origins of classes. In order to have a working anarchist or communist system we must abolish the divine right and replace it with the right of man not the right of siclestial beast.
