- Brian Hugh Warner (born January 5, 1969), better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is a musician and artist known for his outrageous stage persona and image as the lead singer of the band that bears the same name. His stage name was formed from the names; the famous actress Marilyn Monroe and the serial killer Charles Manson, showing what he considered the ultimate and most disturbing dualism of American culture. The name was the binding of good and evil. Manson also claimed that this was to show that show business was fake.
"I'm tired of people calling me a devil worshipper. It's kind of pointless you know. Because if the Devil did exist, he'd be worshipping me, because I'm more successful than he is."
"Music critics get their records for free so their opinions usually don't matter."
"The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they're supposed to like, what they're supposed to buy, and what they're supposed to laugh at."

MM Interview, Phantasmagoria & Next Album =]
Are you already thinking about making a new album?
MM: Yes, I want to begin working on a new album in January or February [2008]. I’ve already written some ideas for songs. After my Greatest Hits album came out I took a long break from music because it was a period where I was not sure who I wanted to be. I left music for a while but that’s not an error I want to repeat in the future.
It is rumoured that you could collaborate with Kerry King on that album?
MM: I’ve become very good friends with Kerry King recently, I’ve had contact with the Smashing Pumpkins and I have also collaborated with Nick Zinner on a remix so it’s a definite possibility that they might contribute to this record
What’s the latest on your directorial debut Phantasmagoria?
MM: Currently the production on Phantasmagoria is postponed. We have some great locations, much of the design is finished and I have a distributor. It was meant to have been filmed earlier but EAT ME, DRINK ME became something that was absolutely my first priority. Now the movie will be delayed even more because of the ongoing scriptwriters strike in Hollywood which is affecting all present productions. I’ll try and restart it at the beginning of next year.

Manson to record Xmas album with girlfriend?
Marilyn Manson is apparently working on a spooky Christmas album with actress girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood. The pair, who have up until now only collaborated while doing karaoke, would love to rework some festive favourites gothic stylee.
"If we were going to do anything, that's what we would do," says Wood. "Just because it would be hysterical."
Wood also admitted that she and the Double M are karaoke addicts and frequent New York karaoke bars regularly.
"The first time I looked at him and said, 'I'm gonna sing one of your songs.'," says Wood. "I was just threatening, as a joke, but then I saw 'Lunchbox' in the karaoke book. I don't think he thought I knew the song. I went up onstage and just screamed it and sang it, sat back down, and he looked at me and said, 'I'm so in love with you. You have no idea.' It was really awesome."1 comentario 746 días

Holy Wood
Not yet released, Manson refers to Holy Wood as "... a fiction novel, most likely comparable with something like 'A Clockwork Orange'," Manson said. "The storylines are not similar in any way, but it's a social commentary and it takes place in a fictional time that's neither the past nor the present."
"It deals with all the subjects that the record (Holy Wood) focuses upon: the value of children, politics and religion, violence as entertainment. I'm sure it will be greeted with great controversy and hatred, and I'm sure someone will read it and want to make it into a film. But my original idea of making it into a film the way I wanted to would never be possible. It would never be shown in a theatre; the images are far too grand, elaborate and violent."

xxxxxxxxxx
I reeeeally agree with below. ;D
I've loved Marilyn Manson since I was about 10 or 11. I'm ever so greatful to have seen him play live once...ONLY ONCE! But it's still really amazing for me.
It's not strange liking him at 13.. 0.o
Gah, this may offend some people, BUT. I REALLY can't stand it when pussy little emo kids with their revolting hair walk around in super tight Marilyn Manson shirts & are all "omg lyk i ttly luv mm. hez so kl lyk, omg i luv dita! omgomgomg i ttly luv mOBSCENE!" & they still think he's with Dita & can't name any band members or songs other than the "popular" ones.
SORRY if I did offend anyone, it just irritates the HELL out of me!!!!
Anywho, yeah, once again I agree with the comment below about the relating to the lyrics and things. There's something in his voice that is really calming & soothing. Kind of healing, if that makes any sense. :\
Lol.
Anywhoo hope you're all doing well, lovely Manson fans. <3
