  • Getting to know me thru my iPod

    Recently I was asked "whats your favorite band?" and my answer was like "I cant put it into just one band".
    So I decided Id do a little interview thing that I saw, I think it was in Rip it Up magazine where they ask people to put their iPod on shuffle and list the first 10 songs to come up and why they are on there, so here goes.

    My People - The Presets (Apocalypso)

    We start off with a bang.
    A great Aussie electro band that are now finally winning awards. This is one of those tunes that is so catchy and I just wanna sing along and makes me almost want to stop shuffle and listen to the whole CD again. Whenever I heard the ad on the radio for the Wellington Phoenix this song is in the background and I felt like taking my ipod out and playing the whole song. Brilliant

    Girl from the Codrine City - Caspa & Rusko (Fabriclive 37)

    From the mix cd by Caspa & Rusko (responsible for tunes like TC - Where's My Money (Caspa dubstep rmx) and Cockney Thug respectivley) showcasing Dubstep. The driving deep synths of DnB but more chillaxed.

    Window in the Skys - U2 (U218 Singles)

    I don't really know why I have U2 on my iPod, I would usually skip this but sometimes a bit of U2 is ok, hence why I have the best of on here.

    Your Sword vs My Dagger - Silverstein (Discovering the Waterfront)

    This was the 1st cd I discovered Silverstein with, and still my most fav. This is one of those songs with screaming, but understandable and melody, from the Emo stage of music, but I still enjoy it.

    The Authority Song - Jimmy Eat World (Bleed American)

    One of my all time fav Cds. See this does help, JEW are so cool... and awesome live...Put my last quarter on, I play Authority song. yea

    Wrong Side of the Tracks - 65daysofstatic (Hole)

    This song is a short clip of dnb sounding electronic music. I thank seeing Hundred reasons live that had this band open for them in London and everyone just stood there amazed at the sounds they were producing. No need for a singer, the music alone is just that good.

    Hello, I'm in Delaware - City and Colour (Sometimes)

    Dallas Green from Alexisonfire on his own. Great singalong lyrics, makes me want to pick up a guitar and play along with him.

    A Moment Suspended In Time - Underoath (Define the Great Line)

    Underoath, one of those bands I got onto after seeing them in lots of those recomendation things, "if you like this you may like ...." Screamo stuff.

    Strangers (Van She Tech Remix) - Van She (V)

    More Aussie Indie Electro, downloaded off the music blog circuit. An electro group Id like to see live.

    That's What You Get - Paramore (Riot!)</b>

    Whenever I hear Paramore It reminds me of Amsterdam. Theyr'e one of those bands that are so cool before they become popular then you get over them. At least they still have a hot Ginga lead singer still :)

    a few bonuses cos my shuffle was just on a real nice roll.

    11. 30 Seconds to Mars - Was it a Dream (A Beautiful Lie)
    A band that would be up there in my top fav bands, so glad I got to see them live at Brixton Academy, one of the best shows Ive seen.
    12. Plain White T's - Song #2 cover (Punk goes 90's)
    I love the Punk Goes series of albums. and this is a great cover.

  • A little update

    So its a little depressing i havent written anything here and theres some old feelings that shouldn't really still be shown. So heres an update of my life now.

    I got a phone call from Wellington Photo Supplies the other week asking me to go for an interview, this was on the same day i went for a meeting with my uncles work to help out there till the end of the year. Well as things have turned out. I got offered the gob at WPS and i start there on Monday the 6th of Oct. I still have another week to finish up at Hungry Kiwis then im gonna be working Sunday to Thursday full time. Thinking back i havent worked full time in the days since Snappy Snaps in like July 2007. Might take me a little to get use to getting up early again. which leads me to daylight savings.
    I turned up to work on sunday and my boss was like 'your not due in till 4' it was 5 minutes to 4 he hadnt realised, that gives you faith in having a good night at work eh.

    The borg has now gone to its new home. A fellow mivec owner who will either try get it back on the road or take most of the parts and put it in his other daily driver mirage or race car. I miss having a nice car now tho.

    guess thats most of it. there may be a move soon into wellington city but that all depends on talking to landlords. would be heaps easier for my new job tho. we will see :)

      I will indeed have a massive trip! Get back to me bout the memry cards. We staying at Chels' sisters house in Brooklyn. Coulda come to your work and picked them up but i think we will be down too late! :( maybe i could see if we could call in or something!?
