We are delighted to bring you the man responsible for one of house music’s all-time classic tracks, Sandy Rivera on May 3rd. That track of course is Kings of Tomorrow ‘Finally’ a track that the legendary Danny Tengalia once said of ‘...Nothing has come close to KOT's 'Finally'. That was the last great record written in house music." Of Course K.OT. is not the only guise Sandy goes by, Auréi, D'Menace, Awesome Foursome, The Committee, Kings Of Tomorrow, Mysterious People, Organized Noize, Sandy Rivera, Sanjay, Sanjose, Soul Vision - these are just some of the DJ/production guises that Sandy Rivera has used in recent years. Despite his impressive credentials Sandy's character remains largely enigmatic; this is down to his penchant for monikers perhaps. Dig a little deeper into Sandy's past and it appears he is responsible for some of the finest dance-floor tracks of our time. If you love electronic music then you have definitely danced to his efforts at one time or another. With three artist albums under his belt Sandy put his vast collection of music to good use on various compilations including: Ministry of Sound Sessions / Kings of Tomorrow, Defected ITH # 2 / Sandy Rivera, plus a recent Renaissance compilation – Master Series 8. Along with the likes of club classics like ‘Trouble’ , ‘Changes’,One of the most notable is workings under the Soul Vision guise - 'Come Into My Room' was a vocal production featuring the singer LT Brown and its music quickly found its way on to a bootleg mash-up overlaying the track with the vocal from Everything But The Girl's 'Wrong'; the resulting 'Tracey In My Room' grew into the dance floor phenomenon of 2001. His presence on the stage impressed as much as his presence in the studio and Sandy saw his DJ schedule rocket, now referring himself a 'citizen of the world' Sandy is regularly in a handful of countries each and every week. He has played host to some of the world’s top dance music acts and Djs with his Defected Parties at El Divino in Ibiza over the past 10 or so years. Part of his success is due to his diversity when playing, Sandy's ability to play tough, techy and minimal on any given day and soulful funk the next has made him a captivating and diverse force to be reckoned with... On this occasion he has promised a Kings Of Tomorrow house set for RePublik and its partygoers. Make sure you get down to Electric Avenue to catch the legend that is Sandy Rivera on May 3rd.

Dixon was recently voted a member of the Top 10Djs of the world by Mixmag and also was installed as Number 8 by its competitor DJ-Mag and who are we to argue. Dixon is not just a DJ but a jack of all trades, from A & R of Sonar Kollectiv, to label boss, club promoter, Producer & Remixer , Football club Chairman with his beloved FC Magnet Mitte, so as you can tell just a DJ, is certainly not Dixon. Steffen Berkhahn, or Dixon as you most probably know him, has come a long way since helping found the Innervisions imprint in 2005. Sure, he's been DJing for over 15 years now, but the worldwide success of the label has brought him legions of new fans that have cottoned on to his smooth deep house grooves. His access to a raft of unreleased Innervisions material certainly helps his cause—his DJ gigs are one of the only places that you'll get to hear Henrik Schwarz's sublime reworks of Omar and Bill Withers. When Dixon entered the Berlin club circuit in the early 90's, he established his name on the strength of DJin. The RePublik boys came back with a bang last Saturday for Re:Session in Electric Avenue with its new & improved Loft. Revelers had a come back gig that left them smiling and dancing right till the end. Paul Mac, Kenno & Martin Roche as usual, brought the goods from start to finish. This Saturday sees RePublik ressies Gavin Boyce, Paul Byran & Daz are on duty. Doors open at 11pm & admission is 10 euro. Our winter schedule is looking pretty busy with lots going on, including some Waterford debuts and of course, plans are already in action for their Christmas Party on Stephens Day which promises to be bigger than any of their previous xmas sessions.

And speaking of new guests for Waterford, RePublik are delighted to announce that on November 8th @ The Loft, Electric Avenue, we will see another debut, as DA SUNLOUNGE (Drop Music, Myna, UK) comes to play at Waterfords award winning club night. Re ublik 3rd Birthday Part II - DJ DEEP

The Second installment of our Birthday Bash(es) will see French house legend, DJ DEEP swing by for his second appearance this year for RePublik, having already rocked The Loft earlier in the year. No stranger to Waterford having played here on numerous occasions, DEEP will bring a more deep & tech vibe to proceedings for RePublik to help us celebrate 3 years of regular events in Waterford, with some of the world's finest DJs on show including Rob Mello, Jason Hodges, Fish Go Deep, Halo, Miguel Migs, Charles Webster, Atjazz, Mark Farina, Kerri Chandler, Dj Sneak, Dj Deep, Jimpster, Phil Weeks, The Littlemen, JT Donaldson, Yousef, Joey Youngman, Alex Wolfenden, Luke Mc Keehan, Inland Knights, Amé aswell as bringing you the best of local talent and national talent including Billy Scurry, Bodytonic DJs, Shane Johnson & Greg Dowling.

We also hope to announce details of our new weekly night which all going well, will happen early October. The venue will be a brand new space in Waterford, with a state of the art system and facilites right in the centre of town. Our aim is to continue to support local talent aswell as brining you some of the worlds top acts and DJs on at least a monthly basis. As with all these type of projects, there are still some fine details to iron out so we hope you bare with us for the next few weeks or so, all we will say for now is ''good things come to those who wait'', and we think this one is worth waiting for.
