'SHAKE!' YOUR BOOTY down to Charleville Castle

Ireland's Most Unique and Exciting Dance Workshop Day is happening for the second year in a row in Tullamore!



Instructors from all over the country are coming to Charleville Castle to teach a wide variety of dance workshops for 1 day only starting with Salsa, Fire Dance, Breakdance, Hip Hop, Tai Chi, and even Burlesque. Bellydance Enthusiasts and Students will benefit from Bellydance variation workshops such as Work with Zils, Saiidi Stick, Tribal Fusion, Arms and Turns, and a Veil workshop that will help add dynamic and flair to future choreographies and to help polish performances. Don't worry though, there is an introduction to Bellydance workshop just for those who want to learn a few basics and check out what the growing excitement in Offaly has been all about. Are your kids interested in Bellydance? Then the Children's Bellydance workshop with Dance Group Najwa Zenya is just for them!



Also nestled in the Fairy Tale grounds of Charleville Castle will be a Holistic Fair and local Market Stalls with exotic and colourful Bellydance costumes, Ethnic clothing and Jewellery for sale, Organic Snacks, Antiques and Collectibles and more.



Whether you are on a break between workshops or simply strolling around the fair taking in the castle surroundings, enjoy being entertained by the occasional performance by some of our instructors and students of the different dance styles being offered and the celebration of culture on the front stage throughout the afternoon.



Workshops and workshop enrolments take place between 11am and 6pm inside of Charleville Castle. The Holistic Fair and Market Stalls, Food Stands and Dance Demonstrations are taking place outside in the Castle forecourt.



Adult admission fee into the Castle grounds is €10, Children up to 5 are free, 6 to 12 are €5 and 13 to 16 is €8.



Workshop prices vary from €10-€20 depending on type and length of workshop. Workshops are permitted to students who are 13 and up. Burlesque is for over 18's only.

At 8pm, all workshop participants are invited to the Dance Performance our Instructors featured that day, plus a special performance from our Bellydance Students in Tullamore, Bray and Dublin who have been practicing enthusiastically towards their Tullamore debut under the guidance of instructor Claire Ann Tobin. If you enroll in 3 or more workshops, you automatically receive 2 free invitations to the performances for your friends!

The Organizer, Claire Ann Tobin, has successfully helped create Tullamore's first Belly Dance classes at Charleville Castle that have been growing strong since its inception in September 2005 and has been an effectively driving force in helping develop Dance and Creativity as a strong presence in the Midlands.

Learn a high energy lively Stick dance to El Kalam Ala Meen by Saad El Soghayar, sung in the musical style “shaabi” - Egyptian street pop that concerns itself with the themes and language of common, everyday people.

Saad, is a popular Egyptian sha’abi artist whose work has been featured on Bellydance Superstars, Vol. 3

This workshop is suitable for dancers of intermediate level, (with or without stick experience). Come and challenge yourself to learn this high energy, lively dance!

The choreography includes, reverse undulations, hagallas, walking shimmies, grapevines danced in a Modern Folk Style.

As there is only 2 hours to learn a 4 minute dance, more time will be spent dancing the choreography then with the breakdown of movements.
