Ok so its that time of the year again where I go up to Thurso over the summer.

18th July 2009

I wake up on a wet morning at 6am, I get out of bed and turn on the shower. But little do I know it wasn't working, so I stepped into the freezing shower and stepped right out again. Upon further investigation to the broken shower, I had discovered my boiler had broken....again. So I went into the living room for breakfast, but little did I know I didnt have anything to eat, so I missed breakfast.

So the time came for me to leave, and off I trotted to the car. We drove to Inverness and parked in a shitty multi story car park. So for 3 hours I was in Inverness, little did I know the worst of my troubles was yet to come. My dad got me the tickets for my train as I was travelling alone. And then came the time to leave. I hopped on the train at 13:30 pm ready to travel alone to Thurso.

My train left at 14:00 and stopped at a station called "Muir of Ord". The train remained stationery for 10 minutes and I was like HOLY SINGLE what the hell is going on? And then over the intercom the man said "We are suffering difficulties further up the line and we will be diverting back to Inverness, undoubtedly this will cause some inconvience for passengers".......Well nuh. So ten minutes later the train made its way back to Inverness. And we were told to stay on the train for 2-3 hours!!!!! Holy single I was pissed, so the conductor guy was handing out compensation slips....at least I was getting some sort of retribution.

But it doesnt end there. I was waiting on the train for a while because Scotrail was trying to negotiate with the bus company a bus service to Thurso and Wick. Then the bus FINALLY gets here. But the bus driver is from Elgin and has no idea on where he is going Holy single! The bus didnt take the main road up to Thurso he had to go through all the winds, twists and turns in the highlands, to stop for all the passengers. Holy Single my stomach couldnt take it. And guess what we saw the fucking train. So I went to check the time and my watch broke!! HOLY SINGLE!!! We stopped at Wick, and I was feeling sick so I got off the bus and puked 4 times.....in front of the Wick police station, good thing they didnt see me. So we stopped off at Wick for 30 mins, as the bus driver needed his break. And I finally got on my way to Thurso, the road from wick to thurso is very flat, so I made it without being sick. Upon arriving in Thurso at 10pm! I was met by my grandad and my misadventure ended there.

The morale of this story is although they seem nicefor now things can change.
