      Music festivals can be full of some pretty strange things. The Flaming Lips covering a full Pink Floyd album, for instance? Yeah, pretty weird. Guys running around naked while wearing wizard gear and then getting Tasered by the cops? That’s pretty strange, too.

      he North By Northeast Music Festival hits Toronto from Wednesday (June 16) to Sunday (June 20) at venues throughout the city. There are some pretty wacky bands playing stages throughout the T. dot, and here are just some of them:

      Her music is pretty straightforward sorta dance-y pop, so what makes her weird? Well, she’s a girl trying to become a pop star, but she already plays a pop star on TV (Instant Star). It’s kinda like Hannah Montana, but with a wholesome Canadian twist, and no washed up country star creeping everybody out or any alleged vagina pics showing up on Perez Hilton’s scummy website.

    • Alexz Plays NXNE (June 19th)

      Foot-tapping, hip-swaying and singing-along filled the Gladstone on Saturday.

      This past weekend, Alexz Johnson took part in the 2010 NXNE Festival, playing at The Gladstone Hotel alongside acts such as Maurice, Alex Lacasse, Dylan Murray and The Zolas.

      She was warmly welcomed by the crowd, which was filled with both fans and music industry executives. Dressed in a yellow summer coat and flashing her million dollar smile, Alexz played nothing short of an amazing set.

      Amongst her tunes were LA Made Me,Voodoo and Superstition off her recent debut album ‘Voodoo’.

      She also treated the audience to a new song called Mary, which was accompanied by guitar. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, Trip Around the World and A Little Bit couldn’t be performed, much to Alexz’s disappointment.

      On wikipedia it says that instant star is due to start .... March 21st - 401. "Your Time Is Gonna Come" March 28th - 402. "She Drives Me Crazy" April 4th - 403. "Changes" April 11th - "Us And Them" Hope its true. Comment me if you know for certain any different. Thanks x x
