- The LGBT society was started at Paisley University by Norman McBreen in 1999. This was the first group set up for LGBT people ever at Paisley. The society has seen a few of its members move on to bigger and better things - Norman is now the LGBT officer for Scotland, Scott Cuthbertson is currently the open place LGBT officer for NUS UK and Jill Little is the current Depute President of NUS Scotland.
9 Years after the creation of the society we have our first female President - Claire Lumsden. Claire is creating a huge range of activities for the society and is also running for a place on the Board of Trustees - in order to continue the high representation levels that LGBT people have. Next year, our society will celebrate its 10th anniversary! - Social Network (Our drinking buddies)

Hi all. If you self define as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or trans, please take part in this questionnaire. Please read on .............
Dear Friends,
My name is Claire Lumsden, I would like to ask for your assistance with a research project as part of my honours year dissertation at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). The objective of this questionnaire is to establish how LGBT people feel about ‘coming out’ in the workplace and gauge the reactions of management/co-workers as a result. This will allow an assessment of the key factors which contribute to your ability or willingness to come out and if this process is supported.
The questionnaire will take 5-10 minutes to complete and is completly confidential, it should be completed by self-defining lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and trans people with work experience, the answers you give should be based on your current employment experience or your previous employment experience if you are not working.

First meeting of the new session
Hi all. Just a quick blog to let you know a date and time has finaly been set for the first meeting of 08/09 session, if you self define as LGB or T and are a student at UWS you are more than welcome to come along, we don't bite, I promis.
