you know i had a random thought the otherday - well a series of random thoughts on one particular subject, and id lyk to know what you think.

see a day or two ago i told my mother that i needed more conditioner. after buying some she informed me that infact we didnt need to buy any, and that she had "more conditioner than she could shake a stick at". I pondered on what she said. sure id heard the saying before - but when i really thort about it it struck me as being a rather strange thing to say. sortof lyk how if u repeat the names of certain utensils you realise just how odd they sound, like tongs, or forks, spatulas and an array of other amusing cullinary tools.

why would anyone shake and stick at conditioner? - or anything else for that matter. where did this come from? and why does the quantity of an item affect the abillity to shake sticks at it? how do you know in the first place if theres too much of something to shake sticks at it anyway?

though this also brought to mind some amusing images. shaking sticks at things could be fun - especially people. id like to shake sticks at people. then they would ask "what are you doing?" and id reply "can't you see my dear sir, that i am shaking a stick at you?". of course they could say a number of things to this - for example "why don't you shake your stick at THEM?" *points*, and to that i could say "ANYONE with half a brain could see that there are toooo meny of THEM to shake a stick at!". or on the other hand they might ask if i needed pyschological help. then you could start poking the stick up your nose or something, and look curiously at them questioning them to why they ask such a thing.

we could, together start a phenomina of shaking sticks at things. it could be the great stick shaking phase of oh-seven. proud stick shakers, shaking sticks at buildings, park benchs, bus stops, hobos and a mirriad of other such things one finds on the street. bold stick shakers, shaking sticks in supermarkets and in librarys. and other legends of stick shaking, shaking sticks where no sticks have been shaken before. yes it could be amazing.
