      Every club has its "Hard Man", the player the opposition fear

      from a personal point of view. In other societies they would

      probably have grown up to become serial killers, but in GAA

      they become corner backs, mildly psycotic, with a pathological

      hatred of fast corner forwards, they only play because it

      allows them to inflict pain unhinderd. The football tends to be

      incidental to their gameplan, and they try to get rid of it as

      fast as possible, with the added bonus that, with play upfield,

      the refs attention elsewhere and you can another dig or two at

      your opponents kidneys.
