Prince of persia: sands of time movie
The Hollywood Reporter have today confirmed the actors to play the two main roles in the Prince of Persia Movie. Jake Gyllenhaal has been officially cast as Dastan(the prince has finally been given a name), the young prince and Gemma Arterton has been cast as the princess Tamina.(Farrahs name has been changed to tamina in the movie for some reason -_-), Alfred Molina will play Sheik Amar, who becomes a mentor to the prince. Ben Kingsley will be playing the villain Nizam.
"In the fantasy adventure, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Doug Miro & Carlo Bernard, Jordan Mechner and Boaz Yakin wrote the script, which is based on the many games created by Jordan Mechner.
Bruckheimer is producing, while Mike Stenson, Chad Oman and Patrick McCormick are exec producing."
Production is set to start in July.

sales document, Ubisoft stated: "The 2008-09 line-up will include notably the following key titles: [...] Prince of Persia". No more information has been released. Earlier screenshots supposedly leaked for a game called Ghosts of the Past. Before that, concept art for a number of games, including Prince of Persia material was leaked from one of Ubisoft's internal servers.
Prince of Persia film
A Prince of Persia film, loosely based on the The Sands of Time storyline, is being made. The script was written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of the Prince of Persia franchise, and was later revised by Jeff Nachmanoff, Boaz Yakin, Doug Miro, and Carlo Bernard. The script tells a story similar to that of the original Sands of Time, but has been adapted to better fit the medium of film. The film will be directed by Mike Newell and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Disney is in charge of distribution and owns the film rights for the Prince of Persia IP. The cast has yet to be revealed. Though, a few pieces of concept art have been released.
An early script was reportedly reviewed by two individual sites, but the authenticity of this script has not been confirmed. It has also been speculated that the film will feature parkour scenes. The film was to be released July 10, 2009, but the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike is causing delays.

it is a bit disappointing that disney is making it but im hoping they at least have some good sword fights in it at least (im sorta expecting it to be like pirates of the caribbean)
and it was mostly the second one that was dark and bloody unlike the first 1 which was more clean cut action than bloody. so even if the film was being done by someone else i wouldnt expect much blood and guts action.
all we can do is that they dont fuck up this movie(which in my opinion they have already started doing when they cast Jake Gyllenhaal as the prince ¬¬ )
