A Poem By Tommy Collins
Party Time
To drink what one wants, to want what one drinks,
To spend your weekends balanced against someone’s sink,
And look up with a smile and a nod and a wink
Whenever someone walks in (just in case they should think
That you don’t really know what you’re doing at all)
Then stumble and crawl down the stairs to the hall,
Again balance yourself against the kitchen wall,
Drain the last from your glass and make sure you don’t fall
Then tonelessly shout out the words of a song
(Too many times you repeat them, you don’t know you’ve gone wrong)
And tell all of your love and how much they belong
With you, there on those nights, and how it’s too long
To wait ‘til next time, the next big event…
Then wake up Sunday morning. Remember how Saturday went?
And you can’t see or stand up, your money’s all spent
And you’ve made too many promises you never really meant.

Heya Laffan! Great to hear from u! Long time no speak is right, its been aaages! Canada was absolutely brilliant thanks! Well apart from the minus 20 degree snowstorms coming upto Christmas - not funny I can tell u! College was class and all the international students were so so lovely! Luckily we managed to get a few trips in and got to see Niagara Falls which was incredible! How are things with you? Haven't seen u since b4 u jetted off to the States! Life in the fastlane is surprisingly slow paced. Ara, almost done now. Gonna miss the stone roses experience in dolans though - not back til the 21st. If you´re havin a chat with them ask them would they not just change the dates or do another one? If they were any way sound they would like.

ur not half random laffan in your pet shop! Aw i've been flat out searchin since may but nothin on these shores. Think i'm gonna up sticks. New Zealand is on my mind at the moment. Its a bit daunting though, Ross and Seany lookin to head off as well but its hard to know wat they're gonna do cus havent really been chattin to them properly. Well wat about the pool givin you fuckers the run around on saturday.

I'm back to limerick around the same time as you, just killing time at work for the next week or 2. it's been a quiet enough summer to be honest, went to Life festival which was up there with the best weekends of my life- i mean that in the worst possible way. went to rome with the girlfriend as well, other than that just pluggin away in cork, learning to juggle, and spending all my money in baker's at the weekend!
i'd say sean og o russeail is back soon too so there'll surely be a messy session in the coming weeks >
