- Me, Myself, and I
- I am currently working in Glasgow for Jacobs Engineering as a process engineer. Am working on a really interesting project and getting great experience, will be chartered before you know it!
Elsewhere life is good, settled into and enjoying married life. Our wee flat is looking great after all the hard work and thankfully the paint brushes are now boxed away!
Still going to gigs, but not so many - one of the downsides of being a homeowner!!
Ok, that'll do for an update just now!
- Music
- See my current listening here: http://www.last.fm/user/Edamski/
- Films
- Still can't beat Aliens! However, some of my other favourites are: The Green Mile, LOTR trilogy, Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix trilogy, Heat, Black Hawk Down, Goodfellas and Top Gun!!
- Sports
- Football mainly, but getting back into Badminton at the moment.
- Scared Of
- Not being in control of my life.
- Happiest When
- Listening to some of my favourite tunes!
- Gigs
- Not much point listing these, should just really highlight some favourites. My frist ever gig was seeing Oasis in 1997, with Travis in support. A pretty good start (IMHO)! Some top gigs have been U2 in the SECC. Oasis, Travis and the Manics each 2 nights in a row at the Barras (not been to a gig there for ages, a real shame.) Every time we see TCTC usually ends being a quality gig. And The Music in the 13th Note (now the Barfly) absolutely superb!

To T or not to T??
Well, its been T in the Park this weekend, and I've made the decision not to go again. I haven't gone for the last couple of years now, having been a regular attender before. The question I am asking myself just now is have I really missed it?
I ask this question sitting watching some of todays T highlights, at the moment Editors are on playing Bullets and it looks superb. However, this weekend I have been able to watch the highlights of T, Live Earth and the Grand Prix. I know if I had been at T I wouldn't have seen any of Live Earth or the Grand Prix. Live Earth was really good and some of the bands put in excellent performances (Metallica, Beastie Boys, Kasabian and the Foos).
I have also really enjoyed watching the T highlights too, from the comfort of the sofa. I don't miss the mud, the rain, the crowds, the annoying people that jump and stagger around in front of you, the hit and miss sound quality and the annoyingly short 6 song sets. Although, I think this could be because I am getting old, lazy and just generally can't be bothered with that whole side of gigging. A nice cosey gig at the barras, enjoying a good band rattling through a 90 minute set, then jumping in the car and home in 15 mins, ideal!3 Comments 872 days

Return to the Barras
Well, last night was my first return to the Glasgow Barrowlands Ballroom for the first time in a long long time, so long that I can't even remember who the last band was that I saw there was (I'll need to dig up the ticket stubs!). What a return it was, it is not very often that a band of the size and stature of the Manic Street Preachers play in a venue of such intimate size.
The gig was brilliant, great Barras atmosphere and the Manics on top form. We also had a great setlist to enjoy, with a a great selection from the first 3 albums in particular:
You Love Us
Send Away the Tigers
Motorcycle Emptiness
Winterlovers
Faster
La Tristesse Durera
Rendition
Born To End
From Despair To Where
Second great Depression
Kevin Carter
Die In The Summertime
Your Love alone
Tolerate
Yes (acoustic)
Ready For Drowning
Sleepflower
Autumn Song
You Stole The Sun
Little Baby Nothing
Condemned To Rock and Roll Into Motown Junk
Design for life
It is a bit of an unusual week, as its back again to the Barras on Thursday for Travis, spoiled!

What have you gone and done???
Well, the rollercoater ride is over. TCTC have finally split up... am personally gutted
. First time I have lost a band whose music I have loved and enjoyed so much.
It had been pretty special while it lasted, but the legacy of the music will live on...

you think if someone has that much time to spend on a computer game they might as well learn to play a real guitar... wish i had that much time!
Getting on good, got an exit plan progressing, its not exactly desirable but it ticks the boxes so they cant complain (much). Found a better replacement at interview today and as of tomorrow I'm a consultant rather than a worker to prove the department self sufficient in my absence.
Poland was ok, a bit to see but not much and weather wasnt anywhere near as bad as I'd expected - probably warmer than the UK.
So what/wheres this house, got a link? Get your flat pics on bebo you might be in luck!
Iain

Aye, fife is okay, but still about an hours worth of a drive. At least I can get there without needing a 3 hour ferry journey across the sea, or an aeroplane....
Still, commute will be a wee bit faster in the new year with the recent purchase of Leon 2.0 TDI FR, brand spanking new and getting picked up on Saturday. What a way to start xmas holidays!
When you finishing up for xmas?
G
you still got the leon or is that old news?
over working in fife now, quite good. you still with J's?
No, I've still not got it off and I've been trying to get it off since April!!!!!!
I'm not going to the Foo's it's almost impossible for me to get any Friday, Saturday or Sunday off work now with changes they've added. Plus I'm going to be seeing Bill Bailey the same night.
nearly a full week and I'm still alive! done a few crazy speeds (only for short periods on the m74) but really enjoying it, quite a contrast to the ibiza and i'm loving the seats!
hows things with you these days? Are you going to the Foos? Fancy some kind of meal/catch up prior to it?
Dont tell me thats how long im on probation for!?! For that length of time i need to have some of whatever Mr Simmons is drinking! He is always cheerful!! He is back on a 'one night only' trip to Glasgow today so we are in for a rare treat!!
Think there are a lot of forgotten moments from Friday, for me that started not too long after you left. Didn't enjoy drinking on an empty stomach!
G
Alrite Adam, Hows it going?!
Havcing a good time down in Auld-B? Im Back in Glasgow as of today, slightly demotivated already.
You enjoy yourself on Friday? I had a great time, great people, bit too much beer though!!
G
I'm playing okay but I don't have the same power I used to have with my shoulder and I struggle particularly with back hand shots from the back of the court.
Maybe I'll get it back sometime.
Things okay with me, nothing of any importance to report.
Have a good time off and beat you at badminton soon.
