Diary of Namibia
Hello, heres a wee update of Niall & Faiths time in Namibia.
We are currently in Swakopmund; a coastal town where the weather is much more like Scotland than anywhere else here. There's alot of germans here also and a few more 'lannies' (white folk) than in the rest of Namibia.
We made the long drive from Windhoek yesterday going accross some spectacular country on the way - bushland, desert and mountains to rival anything in Scotland. Saw some giraffes & warthog type thingys. Was about 8pm when we arrived in Swakopmund and for a moment we thought we were goosed for accommodation, however some nice guys in a chinese restaurant helped us out and directed us to Atalanta hotel where we got a nice double room. Swakopmund is a very clean place with wide roads and a mental surf at the beach, seemed a wee bit like a ghost town (for a Saturday night) but we found a nice restaurant for some scran and then a good busy bar where we enjoyed a few Hansas and played some pool.
On Thursday of last week we went to Dusternbrook farm to feed the cats (leopards & cheetahs). It was cool & the guide had a fancy for Faith so gave us a free drive to the cheetah cubs & their mum. Also saw some baboons, kudu, warthogs, giraffe and antelopes while there.
Friday we went to the local derby between Orlando Pirates & Black Africa. Decent game and our team (Pirates - UP THE BUCCS!) won 2-1. Had an amusing time with Abdul (Faiths uncle) as he danced and sang (whilst very pished) at the match. Sprinklers came on halfway thru 2nd half which was amusing also.
Windhoek has been great and Faiths mum has been kind enough to let us cruise aboot in her car. Faiths other uncle (Berti) also likes to make me designated driver (in his cool polo) while we go from shebeen to shebeen in search of some MG! (Monis Granada - Namibian buckfast!). It does the job.
From here we will go to Walvis Bay (another coastal town 30mins down the road) and then to Sossusvlei where the sanddunes are apparently beautiful.
Still to go to Etosha pan for safari also. All in all though everything has been baie lekker (very good).
Gonna go for a walk along the beach now and suss out something for driving some quad bikes.

That was quite a decent game on Saturday. Thought we actually gave you boys a game for a change he he. That chucky is fairly good eh?
Alright Nially, hows it going? Good crack the other night eh! When we left that club bridie went awol for a bit, he was calling me sayin some boy was followin him about!! Fuck knows! Eventually got some taxi's, i jumped in wie that bird and the boys got in another one at the same time. I got to the flat and stood outside waitin for bout half an hour and the boys never showed up so that bird fucked of and wandered about Leith for a bit with no battery in the phone!! Thought i was kippin in the park wie the junkies but then saw a taxi drive past wie bridie jumpin aboot in the back!! they took so long cause they'd been chucked out the first taxi!! Silly cunts! We were all strugglin on the Sunday!! Good crack tho!!

Changed jobs a couple of months ago. Now working for Tayside contracts up in Blair Atholl. The moneys a fair bit better and the craic isnae bad either.

I'm doing my training in Glasgow, moving up to feldy proper next Tuesday. Was in 'Boro for a day but was then just told to go and start in Perth, so you'll just have to wait for the pleasure of my company.
