Ich über mich
The Boston Shamrocks Ladies Gaelic football Club was founded in 1993 by Joan O'Connor-McDevitt and was the first Ladies team established in Boston. From 1993 to Present, we have represented Ladies Football in America in a variety of ways. Participating the NY 7 aside tournament, the Orla Benson Cup, Boston Championship, and the North American Finals. The Shamrocks have captured many titles throughout the years and owe their success to the wonderful girls both on the field and off.

The Boston Shamrocks are in the off season but have plenty of events to keep us busy! Looking forward to the 2010 season and would like to welcome any willing lady to join our squad. Training when we're back up and running will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6pm at Moakley Park in South Boston. - Keep an eye on this space when were back out training!

UP the Shamrocks!!!

  • Orla Benson Cup Final: May 18th Boston Shamrocks 3-4 Roscommon 0-9

    (taken from the Irish Emigrant)
The Boston Shamrocks produced a tremendous second half display to reclaim the Orla Benson Cup. Sinead Walsh put in a fine second half performance in the Shamrocks forward line, while at the back Liz Monaco made some crucial blocks when the game was on the line.
The first half was a tightly contested affair. Neither side was able to impose themselves on the game and just two points separated the sides at half time - Roscommon being to the good. The start of the second half was crucial, and it was the Shamrocks who came out with guns blazing to fire themselves into the lead. AnnMarie McDonnell pointed from a free, and Aoifa Daly, Paula Callaghan, and Sinead Walsh also got there names on the scoreboard.
Roscommon threatned mid-way through the half, but the Shamrocks rearguard held firm, with Monaco at it's center. Walsh's hat trick ensured victory for the Shamrocks and once again, it is first blood to the ladies in green.
