- The Orchestra gave its inaugral concert on May 24th 1998. In February 1999 it was invited to participate in the Fetival of Youth Orchestras in the National Concert Hall, Dublin, where it was awarded and IAYO/ PENNEYS Achievement Award for "Best Emerging Orchestra".
In addition to three more performances at the Festivals in 2003 and 2007 in the National Concert Hall and 2005 in the City Hall, Cork, the orchestra has presented concerts in Ballinascarthy, Ballincollig, Carrigaline, Clonakilty, Cobh, Glanmire, Kanturk, Macroom, Rochestown and Tipperary as well as a number of weekend concert trips to Schull, Tralee, Ennis, Clonakilty and Castletownbere. Several of these concerts have been presented in collaboration with other member youth orchestras of IAYO and, in 2003, with a visiting group from Cardiff.
This young group has travelled abroad three times; to Paris in 2002; Tarragona, Spain in October 2004, and Prague in 2007.
