- Using negative adjectives such as 'dirty' or 'filthy' to describe your music, especially if you play anything involving the word 'hard' or the word 'electro'

- Telling people it's all about the music when blatantly it's all about whether you catch clubbers whilst they're up on whatever they've taken

- Thinking that using Ableton constitutes a LIVE set

- If you play CDs; Whenever a track surfaces in the Beatport Top 10, stating categorically you were playing it months ago after finding it via MySpace

- If you play vinyl; Finishing every sentence regarding a tune with ".....and I had it six months ago on white label"

- Denouncing in public promoters who book DJs based on ticket sales/numbers, but secretly dropping them an email regardless asking if 5 would be enough

- Gathering around the DJ booth like a fly on shit whenever there is a technical error as being a DJ you're SURE you can fix it where others have failed

- Play hard dance and female? Slip into a bikini and watch the bookings come rolling in.....

- Assuming that you're going places as you've done the warmup in room 4. Once. When the doors didn't open until an hour into your set. And no one noticed.

- Playing vinyl and slagging off CDJ users as having no real skill as CDs mix themselves

- Playing CDs and thinking anyone who is against them is a dinosaur who needs to evolve or die, man

- Playing Traktor/Final Scratch and generally being smug that you've got the best of both worlds.

- Thinking you're giving yourself an edge by playing b2b with a mate and instead putting Vs, implying there is some sort of rivalry

- Instantly dropping a tune from your playlist if you hear it on Radio1

- Trying to define your own journey of minimal polka step in an effort to appear more niche, and therefore more bookable to promoters

- Putting your MySpace/phone number/email address on the bottom of every correspondent you send out.

- Mentioning that you've got some studio time booked, when in fact you're off to sit in front of a cracked copy of Reason somewhere

- Slagging off DeadMau5 because he's doing very well off a very simple idea

- Thiking that Minimal is boring/hard dance is only for teenagers/trance is ghey (delete as applicable)

- Believing that having top of the range equipment is a substitute for talent

- Getting all up yourself when any clubber has the audacity to make a request

- Starting up your own night as you're having trouble getting booked anywhere else

- No one recognises your alias, but you're actually a shit hot producer and the only reason you can't supply audio to prove it is because it will compromise a label's decision to sign your next release.

- Putting your whole body behind it when you twist the bass EQ

- Overdoing the Flange effect (if you use a DJM600)

- Overdoing the Roll effect (if you use a DJM800)

- When you first join the Last Minute DJ group, respond to EVERY advert even if it's months out of date (you never know)

- Starting a sentence with "I'm really starting to get into [dubstep/folk/christian rock/tech house]......" whenever you're feeling slightly disheartened by your chosen genre

- Trying to argue that you play a sound rather than a genre

- Turning your nose up at anyone who plays bootlegs as being 'cheesy', whilst at the same time making sure your Reel II Reel remix never leaves your bag

- Thinking that playing a warm up set is essentially playing a peak time set at -4%

- Every time a promoter or someone who knows a promoter mentions a party, even in passing, putting yourself forward for a set

- Name dropping about 'big name' DJs you've shared a flyer/booth/toilet queue/30m section of bar with once

- Believing that having opposable thumbs and the ability to count to 4 makes you special somehow

- Thinking that beatmatching is any more important to DJing than moving
