The second of a trio of superliners, Titanic and her sisters were designed to provide a three-ship weekly express service and dominate the transatlantic travel business for the White Star Line.

In 2OO5,divers placed a plaque on the Titanic from Harland and Woloff, the Belfast shipyard that build it. They were shocked at how quickly the ship was rusting and falling apart. In theory, because there is very little oxygen so deep in the Ocean, they should be no rust, but bacteria are eating away the iron, sulfur and phosphorus in its structures. Twenty 5-ton truck could be filled each year with rusticles from the Ship.
