Mysteries of the Spirit world
For all my Kentucky friends, if you're near Georgetown, KY this weekend, I'll be presenting the following program at the Scott County Library at 2:00 p.m.
MYSTERIES OF THE SPIRIT WORLD
Science versus religion ( a brief discussion of the scientific and religious views on spirits/ghosts and the spirit world.)
What is the Spirit World?
(Why do we search for the answer to this question?)
Do ghost/spirits really exist?
(Haunted Places in Kentucky)
Can souls communicate with the living?
What are Orbs?
ENERGY
Why do some people see spirits and others don’t?
What is an aura, how and why do we react to it.
SPIRIT GUIDES
Do spirit guides exist?
What is the purpose of a spirit guide?
Finding your spirit guides.
ESP
What is ESP?
Does everyone have it?
How can you enhance your ESP?
PSYCHIC PHOTOGRAPHY
What is psychic photograpy?
Can it be faked?
How are psychic photos taken?
MY GHOSTLY ESCAPADES
As research for my third Jacody Ives Mystery Book I became a paranormal investigator. In book three the five year old in book 1 grows up to become a paranormal investigator. Although I had knowledge into the world of paranormal, I had no clue what instruments
they used and why.
I went into this exercise as a “debunker”. I wanted to act as the
voice or reason.
Memory walking versus Deja Vu

Over 150 years of KY History and One Big Heart
Every year in honor and celebration of Robert Penn Warren’s birthday and the State’s designated Writer’s Day, Jeanne Penn Lane and Dawn Lane Osborne open their hearts, their property and their own pocketbooks to support musicians, authors, poets, songwriters and any and all who want to come and perform their artistic works at Historic Penn’s Store in beautiful Gravel Switch, Kentucky.
Penn’s Store is the oldest country store in America and has been run by the same family since the 1800’s. For a real treat, vist the website below and read its history, and the history of the Penn family.
Authors, poets, songwriters and musicians from all over Kentucky and even as far away as New York come to share the microphone and entertain the audience. I feel very fortunate to be one of those who will once again be attending as a featured performer this year. I met Jeanne Lane last year, when as a struggling debut author I came across the Kentucky Writer’s Day ad and contacted her about coming to pitch my first book, The Gifts, A Jacody Ives Mystery, released by Echelon Press Publishing on May 1, 2006. I immediately fell in love with Gravel Switch, Kentucky, Penn’s Store and the people. Jeanne and I quickly became friends, and that friendship has continued to grow over the past year.
Imagine traveling back in time for about a hundred years and you have a picture of what the store looks like. I used my first outhouse (Penn’s Store was fortunate to finally get a bathroom (outhouse) in 1992. And it’s not just any outhouse, it’s a very special outhouse dedicated by Chet Atkins, Billy Edd Wheeler and many other musical guests who travelled from far and near in 1992 to have the first OUTHOUSE BLOWOUT.
Kentucky Writer’s Day is fortunate this year to be joined by a host of well known musicians and authors, including Nina Clooney, mother of the gorgeous and quite famous George Clooney. By now, I’m sure Jeanne is pulling at her hair and wondering for just a second why she does this. But then she’ll remember. She does it because she loves the arts. She does it because every artist deserves a forum and an audience to present their work. She does it because she loves people, music, and writing and because she’s just a wonderful person with a big heart.
I can’t lay claim to fledgling author this year, and there may be other places that I could sell more books this weekend, but there is no other place I would rather be. I’ll be there helping out, promoting my book, listening to the wonderful work of other artists and I’m even going to do some Tarot Card readings. So if you haven’t already made plans for the weekend, and you’re looking for a great time for the entire family, visit Kentucky Writer’s Day 2007 at Penn’s Store, Gravel Switch, Kentucky. You’ll be glad you came. Jeanne always has open mike time, so if you’re written something you want to share, bring it along. We’d love to hear it.
