Review from the Donegal news
Based in Lifford and born in the summer of 2007, Rude Mood are one of the few blues bands from Donegal. It is quite unusual that the smooth blues/rock band have risen from the remains of 2 former metal bands "Blackened" and "Murderplan". After the disintegration of each metal band, a mutual desire for some chilled, blues music combined with a vintage sound was established between Matthew Quinn (singer/guitarist) and Sean Quinn (Lead guitarist/singer). Matthew asked his former drummer from "Murderplan" Richard McGowan to join. Kevin Monaghan, (a close friend of Sean's from college) was also hired as a bassist and voila! Rude Mood was born. Plans for recording are most definitely in order what with Sean and Kevin in the recording studio five days a week studying Music Production. "I plan to at least use the band for an assignment and hopefully record a few EP's to sell at future gigs," explains Sean.5 Comments 271 weeks

"Their music both swings and rocks. it rocks both in a blues-rock sense, but rocks in a hard-driving blues sense also. In fact, if you’re a fan of blues-rock, this band probably will work for you. Their songs tend to the “straight blues/alternitive” end of the spectrum, a refreshing approach nowadays. The guitars have a bit of a retro 50’s feel, light on the distortion and overdrive, some reverb, adding up to a nice clean old-school Fender sound. The rhythm section, The Kev machine on bass and Richard Mc Gowan on drums, is rock solid without getting in the way. My personal faves by the band include “Fire”, amazing rock by one of the godfathers, Jimi Hendrix, “Bad Penny”, an intense blues/alternitive cooker, by Rory Gallagher, and of course the bands take on "crossroads", the Cream classic, the band will be writing originals to a minor-key Guitar gut wrenching and some of sean's and matty quinn's patented blues moans and trading licks back and fourth like two warriors locked in the sweet lodge of a battle, this band is a must see"

Hey Rude Mood GlenStock Battle of the Bands in Biddys Bar Glencolmkille in assosiation with Kopperberg With Prizes including Recording Time for not just the winners but also runners up During the 26th, 27th 8 bands each will battle it out to compete in the grand Final on the 28th where the winner will recieve enough recording time to produce their very own 5 song Ep and 100 professional copies of their Ep with Cd inlays.The runners up will recieve recording time for 3 songs and 50 professional made cds. And 3rd Place will also get a 3 song Ep recorded. The top three Bands will also be booked for Gigs the Festival in August (paid of course) Drink Promotions on Koperberg and Barbaque for the hard core fans of all bands and Djs after all the winners have been announced and also some more suprises during the weekend. Entry Fee 50 euros
