    • Kate Ritchie and Grant Denya Host the 2009 Carols in the Demain!

      Grant Denyer and Kate Ritchie will team up again to host this year’s Woolworths Carols In The Domain. Now in its 27th year, the much loved Christmas event will be beamed around Australia from Sydney’s Domain, on Saturday December 19, at 8.30pm.

      Kate and Grant step into the hosting roles, for the third consecutive year. Grant says of being on the Carols stage: "It simply is the most breathtaking view you could ever imagine. The joy of one hundred thousand people singing their little souls out is electric. The candles and glowing faces are like a milky way of happiness. The sound is a symphony of joy. I may race V8 Supercars at over 300kmh but this experience softens the hardest tough men."

      Kate adds: "It is incredibly beautiful...thousands upon thousands of glowing candles. The first year I stepped onto that stage I was completely overwhelmed. There is an incredible feeling of unity on the night. The Carols make everyone stop and enjoy the Christmas spirit. It is such an honour to host."

      Some of the artists appearing on the Carols stage will be Adam Brand, Kasey Chambers, Leo Sayer, Georgie Parker, the cast of Wicked the Musical, Australia’s Got Talent winner Mark Vincent, The McClymonts and The Wiggles. More names – including international artists - will be announced over the coming weeks.

      Home and Away's Rebecca Breeds, is making her singing debut on Dec 19, in front of thousands of people at the Domain in Sydney - and millions of people watching Carols In The Domain across Seven. Singing was a big part of her life at school - in the good old choir. This is her first time centre stage. Rebecca has been playing Ruby Buckton on the Seven series for the past two years.
      "Its a privilege, and I am very, very excited, but its also extremely daunting and by far the biggest live audience I have ever experienced. It's going to be a huge challenge, and hopefully a huge triumph."
      "My whole family and best friends will be coming to cheer me along, I always watch the Carols on television at home with my family and its just a special time of year, I can't wait."

    • Todd Lasance Leaving Home and away - CONFIRMED!

      Some of you may have seen this report in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

      ''For eight weeks Todd Lasance has been juggling his Home And Away commitments with taping auditions locally for film and TV projects in Hollywood.

      That's because the Logie-winner will finish on the long-running soap, following many of the show's alumni to Hollywood, on January 15.

      He wants to hit the big time.

      "Failure is not an option," the 24-year-old told Confidential.

      "I'm willing to put in 20 years over there if I have to because this is what I want to do."

      He hopes to emulate former HAA star Chris Hemsworth, who starred in the latest Star Trek film. ''

      We can also reveal that Todd will be making the journey with two of his best friends, Mark Furze and Jessica Tovey! Whilst it's sad that so much talent is leaving our shores, we wish them well and you can guarantee they will have an amazing time together.

      Fans will be taken on a journey in 2010. The questions surrounding the ‘mystery’ will be resolved, with a series of dramatic flashbacks showing fully extended scenes of what really happened on Lou's boat, the mysterious shark attack and much more.

      Will Summer Bay ever be the same? The residents will face some very challenging times at the beginning of the year. They experience fear and disillusionment when their little coastal town continues to struggle in troubled times. Powerful scenes with all the cast, highlight the importance the community. Leah’s fear and Alf’s disillusionment of the Bay and the people in it, are the most grueling.

      Then 'like a phoenix rising out of the ashes’, hope begins to return. Wise words from Irene to Alf help put things back into perspective “It's the people who call this place home, the ones who really care about it like you and me who are the ones that matter.”

      Community spirit gradually returns along with familiar, much loved characters like Annie Campbell and Marilyn Chambers. There are new faces including Romeo’s sister Mink Carpenter (Matylda Buczko), Rabbit (Mitzi Ruhlmann), Elijah Johnson (Jay Laga’aia), Fashion Designer Britt Hobart (Diana Glenn) and Michael Patton (Jack Campbell - who was in All Saints).

      Sun, laughter, love, friendships and good humour fill the Bay once more along with great drama and intrigue, including someone from Aden’s past. Nicole follows her dream to become a fashion designer, Annie and Romeo find eachother, and Leah falls in love. There are refreshing new sets, interior designs, and locations to support and enhance the multiple Home and Away storylines.
