  • 9/11 Update

    Hi and hello :)

    Time for a wee up date me thinks.

    Business! Yes Starting a business is a difficult project.There are many concerns such as financial, timing, and most importantly reputation! Red Red Rose Ayr had the great advantage of having 9 yrs reputation behind her before opening :)
    Its now coming up on the second year of Red Red Rose Ayr and yes we still get people asking if we have just opened but all those people come back time and time again either to our Ayr shop or our Mauchline shop depending on which suits them best for locality.

    The last two years at the Ayr shop have not always been the best. Having to endure a change of manager in the first 3 months of opening could have posed many problems however the new manager has far exceeded the expectations of a fledgling shop and began to establish a well known and trusted florist within the heart of Ayr.

    The requests from brides wishing to make appointments with our head florist has seen Catherine now splitting her time between the two shop as appose to being based in Mauchline. This has culminated in the appointment of a new florist in the Mauchline shop (bucking in trend in low employment).

    A new range that may interest new mothers is the design and intricate weaving of Christening corsages for babies. These are small artificial wrist corsages containing lucky white heather that are highlighted with beads and gems to create a keep sake family heirloom.

    All that is left to say is a big thank you to all our customers and watch this space for Bebo friends discounts :)

  • Good Start!

    Well things are coming along nicely. We've re stocked the shop; adding some new nik-naks and tidied up and rearranged the interior for maximum inpact.

    Cat is doing a good job in tautoring me in the fine arts of floristery; this isnt too surprising though. She has been training others up for years now and has also worked along side educational establishments in the formal education of trainee florists; most of whom have gone on to open their own businesses! :)

    I have also had the pleasure over the last few weeks of meeting the other business people and worthies of the street. It's like being in Eastenders when you get a good gossip started with them, especially the guy known to the street as the "god father" lol. He seems to know all that goes on, which is great. He is a lovely guy who along with many others has congradulated me on the changes made to the shop and the professional and friendly service provided :D yup i'm quite chuffed with myself lol.

  • From the Ayr shop

    Well i've got to admit after the rush we had over the last week for Mothers day this week has been dissapointing! I started work the week before Mothers day so i was kept very busy in the run up to it. We have had a lot of people in through the doors though. I'm greatful for the fact that we also stock a range of gifts in the shop, however we do still do a very good trade in floral designer merchandise.

    I couldn't put into words how much respect i have for the creative abilities of Cat our florist. I studied art and design and specialised in graphic design, but i hand my hat to Cat. Her wedding designs are out of this world. She respects the clients ideal at ever point even if that compromises her own sense of style, she is a true proffesional. Cat knows when to offer advice on a design and when to go with the clients ideas. She is a truelly remarkable designer florist!

    So that is my up date for now. I only started last week and this bebo site has only been up for a week so give us time....i might be able to get Cat to give out some flower care tips and floral arrangement tips if you are lucky.

      Would love to pop in and show you my album! I handed my proof wedding fotos in to photographer on monday omg decisions decisions on what photos to pick for our album it was a nightmare!! should get my album back in next few weeks so i will pop up at some point to show you them. xxx

      Hi,
      Nice to hear from you. We are all fine and well. I`m getting on great now and really can`t complain too much... got my 2nd leg a couple of weeks ago and it fits a lot better. the only crappy thing is the phantom pain, where was foot used to be, it`s so painful !!!
      strange how our brain works.!!!

      We will catch up this year at some point so don`t worry.
