- This band is all about the wonderful dogs known as huskys! Husky were the first recognised dog breed in the world due to their characteristics of the wolf and people were unable to tell them apart! Huskys have 2 coats which they shead at the beginning of the spring and winter to give them the right coat for the temperature surronding them. Once they were owned in houses the husky became the most popular dog for sledding activities and search and rescue dogs up in the mountains due to their thick fur. They come in many colours ranging from red and white to apricot to black. On average 89% of huskys have a face mask which is a line of colour running down between their eyes and along the nose. In many dog shows if the husky does not have the face mask it is not registered as a pedigree even though we know they are! A Sled-dogs soul:
What happens to a sled-dogs soul,
when his life has ceased to be?
When his body just became too old,
when his eyes no longer see.
For years he ran both loyal and true
With his soul in every pace
now where his harness used to hang
theres just an empty space.
But his soul now has a special place
And smiles down on you with love
That soul became a brand new cloud
Racing over skys above.
Look more closely and you'll see
Not one cloud, but a host.
Those sled-dog souls all formed a team
And speed for the finish post
"But wheres their harnesses" you say
Thats answered after dark
you'll see them clear against night skies
Each studded with a star.
