Born in Hayward, California, Johnson first gained mainstream fame as a standout in the then-World Wrestling Federation. He was originally known in the promotion as Rocky Maivia, in homage to his father, Rocky Johnson, and his maternal grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia.[2] His mother Ata Maivia was a Samoan of royal lineage of Samoa.
He holds the record for most reigns as WWF/E Champion, having held the title seven times before he left the business in 2004.

I am a Rock fan much like you, but does the appearance of The Rock really mean a comeback to the squared Circle?
Wishful thinking says yes, but the answer I'm afraid is no!
The Rock is still working on upcoming films, and I dare say maybe once his movie career has died down he may return to the WWE but until then we will have to make do with the young pretender Cena.
