- Swankie started to develop a desire for music when he was 11 years of age. His elder cousin used to play Drum & Bass tape packs all the time aswell as attending big events such as Helter Skelter. He would always borrow tapes off his cousin until realising where I was able to get them from. After listening to the finest DJ’s in all genres of music including Mark EG, M-Zone, DJ Sy, Hixxy, Dougal, Brisk, Force & Styles, Scott Brown, Slipmatt and Vibes Swankie started to develop a strong passion for electronic music aswell as the urge to play it. In 1997 a friend of Swankie's had a set of belt drive decks for Christmas. He invited Swankie over there on boxing day for a spin on them and since then he has never turned back. Swankie was always playing his decks as often as possible as he was unable to buy a pair himself due to the fact that he was in school, had no income to get a set of decks let alone have a vinyl habit.
