The New Edinburgh Bookshop - My Book?
The new Edinburgh Bookshop is opening really soon and is asking for suggestions for its opening stock. Book titles and authors can be left as comments on the blog, so if you like my book at all, or any of my writing, or just like me a little bit, please suggest my book, Despite Losing it on Finkle Street, as a stock item, it would be brilliant to see my book stocked in what looks like it's going to be a great new independent bookshop. You can leave suggestions at

thanks x

Driving Barefoot Short Listed in The Ted Walters Contest
First of all, looking at this and my last post, it does seem as if I write a lot of short fiction with the word ‘barefoot’ in the title. I don’t. Only these two in fact. It just so happens that these two stories, Driving Barefoot and Barefoot Love, have both been placed in contests. Maybe I should write more stories using the word ‘barefoot’, maybe there’s something in it…
But more interesting than all that is my invitation to this one, The Ted Walters Contest in Liverpool. The ten finalists are invited to read for five minutes each at the prize giving evening in October. I haven’t decided yet, whether to go. One thing on the invitation that might just sway me is the times the event will be held at. 8pm till 2am! That’s some literary event! 2am!
So that’s how they do literary readings in Liverpool then.
