- We are Diversitay LGBT Group. We are here to provide confidential support and information to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as well as to people who may be questioning their sexuality. We also offer support to anyone struggling to come to terms with the fact that a friend or relative may be LGBT. Diversitay is the only fully inclusive LGBT group specifically serving the Tayside area.
We have been in existence since 1994, initially called Dundee LGB Switchboard. We changed to Diversitay in 2000 to reflect our ongoing commitment to serving the whole of the Tayside area.
Our phone line is open every Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm.

Footsteps and Witnesses: Lesbian and gay lifestories from Scotland
The book consists of eleven lifestories from lesbians and gay men in Scotland collected in 1992/3 and a further eleven lifestories collected from different lesbians and gay men in 2007. While there are interesting contrasts between the stories from the two different periods, this book is definitely not the Official History of Homosexuality in Scotland. Rather, it seeks to give an opportunity for a diverse collection of lesbians and gay men to tell their own stories on their own terms. As the opening line of the book says: "The past may be beyond our reach but it can be glimpsed through the stories we tell one another."
There will be two events to launch the book - one in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow. There may be other events in Dundee and London and details of these can be found by accessing the Word Power Books website on www.word-power.co.uk
The Edinburgh launch will take place on
MONDAY, 4 FEBRUARY, 7pm

The Glasgow launch will take place on

New Channel 4 Programme
Dear Diversitay,
I am contacting you from So Television in London - Graham Norton's company. We are developing a project for Channel 4 Online and are looking for young people to take part. I am keen to let you know about the project as I want to involve a diverse range of British youths on the site and am hoping you might be able to help me.
We are creating an interactive website for 20 select 16-21 year olds. We are focusing on this informative 'coming of age' peer group and want to deal with the issues and problems associated with entering adulthood. We are currently looking for our people and want to include the issues faced by the gay and lesbian teenage community. As this is an interactive website with video content, as opposed to a television programme, we feel that it is a more sensitive and informative way of exploring the subject of sexuality.
It would be great to chat further with you about the project. Is it ever your policy to post notices on your website or talk to your members about media opportunities? I want as many young people to find out about the project as possible and any advice you can give me on how best to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Anna Shaw

hi guys!
thanks for the support - we will mail you something about the club over the next few days. things have been a bit hectic since we set up dealing with all the interest but we are getting there!
Hi,
I'd be willing to take some leaflets, but not too many. Also, with the number of members interested in helping out on the stall I'd like to keep it to just the DU-LGBT members who help out, but thank you anyway.

Hey,
My name is Kimberley, I am a Young Persons Involvement Officer for a Mental Health Charity. I have recently set up a new group on bebo ( http://www.bebo.com/augment-ypip ) and I would really appreciate if you would join it.
I have connections within the high hiedgans of the mental health services and they want to hear your opinions. Its time for mental health services to change but in order to do this we need a collective voice, we need lots of support and we need to hear YOUR voice!
I would also be very grateful to anyone who reads this to get in touch with me if they can think of any other groups, whether they are on bebo or not, that would benefit from a group like this.
So please, come and join, I'm ready to listen and I know I can make a difference, all I need is your help.
Thanks
Kimberley
