Marillion are a British Rock group. Formed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England in 1979, their recorded studio output comprises thirteen albums and is generally regarded as comprising two distinct eras, delineated by the departure of original frontman Fish in late 1988 after their first four albums, and the subsequent arrival of replacement Steve Hogarth ("h") in early 1989. Marillion has released nine albums thus far with Hogarth.
Derek William Dick, better known as Fish (born 25 April 1958 in Dalkeith, Midlothian), is a Scottish progressive rock singer, lyric writer and occasional actor. After a patchy career as a gardener and forestry worker, he came to public attention in 1981 with the British group Marillion, which he left in 1988 following top ten hits in 1985 with Kayleigh and Lavender and in 1987 with Incommunicado.

Went to see him at Buxton Opera house last night.........Flipping brilliant....My favourite fish gig so far. Haven't been to any Marillion gigs, they were a bit before my time

Marillion am great...Fish and H are awesome...Never seen Fish live tho unfortunatly...Misplaced Childhood is one of the greatest albums ever made.

I briefly met Fish at a gig in the sugar club in Dublin.It was the search for the 13th star tour i think.I shook hands with him and said how the hell are ya?I didn't want to get in to a conversation with him because he was havin a smoke at the time.A band called Glyder supported him that night.Does anyone here listen to porcupine tree,magnum or king crimson?

FISH ruled!
was at the fish gig in the jam house edinburgh after meeting said mr fish at the football he kindly offered to put me on the guest list and it was amazing i had not seen or heard fish live for at least 20yrs (but never forgot the music or to listen to it) but live and to hear the songs that first stirred my emotions all those yers ago made me realise that music is ever powerful and thats what i do myself performing is the best thing to be if your talented enough to do so. So never fear as the music will always be clear..
