Hardstyle, in the United Kingdom sometimes referred to as hardbass, is a genre of electronic dance music that is closely related to hardcore and hard trance. Being a fusion of both hard trance and hardcore (also known as gabber), hardstyle is grouped in the hard dance section. Its sound is usually characterized by a four to the floor kick beat and an off-beat gabber style bass line, hard trance like synth stabs and sweeps and miscellaneous samples. Tracks often feature excessive reverb and/or other effects, breakdowns and occasionally small breakbeat sections. The average tempo is between 130 and 150 bpm, around 30 slower than nu style gabber

On November 22, 2008 Q-dance presented the 16th edition of Qlimax in Gelredome, Arnhem. This edition, The Next Dimensional World, is the first Q-dance event, and even the first dance event in the Netherlands that is delivered in High Definition.
In addition to the familiar 2-disc digipack with a DVD and an exclusive mixed CD, is now also a special 3-disc edition released. This package contains the DVD and CD, Blu-Ray with the Qlimax Live show in High Definition video and additional sound options. In addition to Dolby Digital 5.1 can also be chosen for a DTS track and an uncompressed Linear PCM 5.1.
This special 3-disc edition, with Blu-Ray Qlimax, Qlimax DVD and CD mixed by Tatanka is in limited circulation delivered.
