I hope you all had a lovely, relaxing, reflective Easter and that you're managing to find time to enjoy this beautiful spring weather. Hansi had a really great time helping at camp over the Easter break, praise God and I managed to get some time off and relax.
Please continue to pray for the work that we're involved in directly and which you're indirectly involved in through prayer. On Sunday, Hansi and a team of people are hosting Synergy - our first YFC youth praise service in Bray for youth (and those young at heart) in Bray. If you're in the area, join us. It's at 6.30pm in Ballywaltrim Community Centre, and if you're not in the area, please pray for us - for Hansi, the worship team and for Rob Short, who'll be speaking to us. Please pray that it will be well attended and that God will be present and glorified at it.
On Monday, Kevin and Maureen, the american couple who are moving to Galway later in the year will be busy. Kevin will be running the Boston Marathon - so please pray that he'll complete it without injury and then they will be spending all week having meetings with individuals and churches, sharing what they'll be doing in Galway and looking for supporters. Please pray that many people will join their financial team this week.
God has answered one of our prayers (and realistically, more than one!) in the form of someone to help in the office. Maire is a retired woman from Bray who is going to help/volunteer in the YFC Ireland office once a week from now on. She starts on Monday. Please pray that she'll settle into her role well and that together, we'll be able to keep up with all the office and admin work. Praise God for her and pray that through this, she might come to know God personally.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I'm attending the ACET course on Sexual Health Promotion. Please pray that I'll be able to take it all in and that in time, I'll be able to use it in youth clubs and schools.
On Tuesday evening, I'll be attending a seminar in Dublin on getting funding for running exchanges etc with other European Countries. Please pray that I'll be able to take this in too and that in time we'll find ways of getting government funding for doing what we are already doing ro hope to do in the future.
All this week, 3rock, Authenic Youth and Youth Alive are hosting a speaker called Reggie Dabbs, who'll be speaking in lots of schools around the country and speaking at evening youth events. I've agreed to help at the one on Wednesday evening in Liberty Church in the city centre. Please pray that many young people will be impacted by what he shares with them. On Thursday, Full Timers will be happening in the morning. Please pray that it will be well attended by youth workers and that we'll be a good blessing and support to each other.
On Friday, there's a YFC Ireland Board meeting. Please pray that God will lead us in all the decisions we need to make.
Finally, please continue to uphold Michael and all the Rock Solid and Mettle Groups. Michael is in the process of organising a join event, so please pray that the clubs will all be up for it and that planning and preparation for it will go well.

Hi Guys,
I'm not too good at this blog kinda stuff, so if you're expecting secrets from my inner self, you might as well stop reading. However, if you're interested in helping YFC there's a couple of ways of doing so at the moment. The first is by running or walking the ladies mini marathon on Monday 4th June in Dublin. It's a 10k walk and is the biggest ladies event in the world. And while you're getting fit and having a laugh with the ladies around you, you can also be helping YFC - by getting sponsorship. Last year, 9 people did it for YFC and we made enough to cover our insurance for the year - so a day in the sun made a big difference last year and hopefully will again, this year. If you're interested, let me know. You have to be over 14 to do it and a female ( or else dressed up as a female). If enough people sign up, we might even do some practice walks/runs together before the event ( but only if you're interested and living in this area.
The second way you can help YFC at the moment is by send me your favourite websites for youth work, as we're hoping to compile a small book with loads of website links to help youthworkers get ideas. So, if you can recommend any good sites, let me know.
