- I adore music! Music was once my life... funny how perspectives change. But yes, music will always be a big part of who I am; I still reach for any musical instrument I can get my mitts on! My tastes are very eclectic, ranging from metal to classical to new age to world... Anything that isn't cheesy, assembly line, carbon copied crap.

Opinions
Why is it that some people, who claim to respect the beliefs of others, are so ignorant when it comes to other people's thoughts and feelings if they differ from their own opinion. I don't get it. Why can't we share out opinions in a civilised manner, and take on-board what someone else's beliefs and opinions can teach us instead of getting aggressive and attacking each other?

Earthlings - An Animal Welfare Documentary
There is a video that I feel I must share with you, even though I know most won’t appreciate it very much. It is, however, a huge eye-opener to most people who have not been aware of much that goes on in the animal-based industries.
EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers." The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby.

I am not a vegetarian, and in fact I find vegetarianism unnatural. Humans are designed to be omni-voracious – we have both carnivore and herbivore teeth, and our jaws move in the same way as a carnivore. We can only get all the nutrients our bodies need from both, unless you eat vast quantities of mung beans. For this reason, I disagree with your average militant vegetarian (you know, the ones that force feed everyone the “meat is murder” propaganda, while ignoring the fact that half of the animal kingdom eats meat).
However, I do not eat anything that has been cruelly treated if it can be helped. I eat meat that comes from a farmers market, so that I know that it has been raised well and has had a chance to live a long life. I know that these animals have been killed humanely, and mostly aren’t even taken to the abattoir (slaughterhouse) and so avoid the stress of that environment. I also do not use animal tested products, including most medicines. I am a herbalist out of principle, and quite frankly most herbal remedies are better for you in any case.
You don't have to be a vegan to treat animals well! The animal industries are disgusting, and the world needs a major wake-up call to its reliance on ignorance from the consumer. For this reason, I am sharing this documentary with you all.
I sincerely wish that people would realise that animals have feelings too, and that their suffering mirrors our own. If they must be killed for our basic needs (i.e. food), they should at least be treated with respect and be granted a long and cruelty free life. I try to hold true to that, my own personal belief. After all, is it really so hard to make sure products you use are cruelty free?
All you need to do is look for the marking on cosmetics. It can be a little bunny, or it can be a statement saying “cruelty free” or “this product was not tested on an animal”. It is really that simple. Stop eating meat from battery farm suppliers (yes, this includes many fast food chains), and feel the better for it. Adopt pets from shelters instead of buying them from pet shops… These are small changes, but make all the difference.

Here's a blast from the past. Bumped into Gerrad/Gerald from GOMA days at Glasgow Uni. I was at the Freshers' Fayre for work stuff and he appears to be chairman of the role playing society. Ha! They appear to have set up an interesting little feudal knight society.
