Commerce Society AGM 2009
The AGM for the Commerce AGM will be held on
Tuesday, February 17th, 6.30pm in the Elec Engineering Building Room L2
(For those who dont know where that is, its that building before Kane on the left hand side. For those of you who dont know where Kane is its that depressing looking one down past the Old Bar!)
The Commerce Society will be recruiting candidates to contest for positions on next years Committee. Elections will be held in the weeks following the AGM.
The Positions that shall be contested are:
Auditor
As head of the Society the new Auditor will be in charge of managing the society overall and having knowledge of everything thats going on. Main responsibilites include; keeping Society Members motivated, empowering Committee Members, and developing and implementing a vision for the Society.

Vice Auditor
Responsible for Society's minute's book. Assistant to the Auditor. This position provides an invaluable insight into the Commerce Society. Responsible for setting Agenda for meeting and liaising with Auditor in relation to the future of the society.

Finance And Sponsorship Officer
Deals with all financial matters pertaining to the Society. S/he shall at the AGM present a report for the accounts for the Session, at the beginning of term submit a budget to the Societies Guild, and submit Special Application forms to the Socs Guild when required. All those interesting in pursuing careers in Accounting or Financial Affairs, this position will look very good on your CV.

Sports And Social Officer
Good organisational and communication skill. An outgoing personality. A high level of commitment and strong work ethic. High standards in preparation and innovation. Our current Sports And Social has none of these attributes, but hopefully our next one will. Ha, whats the crack Colin!? But seriously, he actually does. All of these characteristics will be vital for the continued success of UCC's largest and most active society.

Education And Seminars Officer
The Commerce Society provides education seminars throughout the year. The Educartion and Seminars Officer is responsible for organising academic and career seminars for the members of the Society. Throughout the years we have attracted high profile speakers who have spoken across a wide and diverse range of topics.

Public Relations Officer
Responsible for the function of public relations. i.e dealing with the media, putting up posters, attempting to write witty emails, using the committee as an excuse to chat up commerce girls, and preserving a high profile for the Society in UCC by dressing up as Fr Ted or Michael Jackson. The UCC Commerce Society is the biggest and most active on campus and keeping it that way is a never ending task. Ideal for those who are interested in pursuing a career in Marketing, PR, Banter or Students Union Presidency.

Comm Week
We would like to thank everyone who came out and got involved for all of our events. Well done to the Ladies and Fellas Comm Cup Winners, the School Sports Day Winners, The Flip Cup and Beer Pong Champions,The UCCs Got Talent Winner, The Quiz Winners and everyone who won spot prizes on the night of the Ball! Also fair play to everyone who had a go at our Human Fusbal and Gladiator Events in the Amphitheatre! Commerce Week
Monday
Comm Sports Day
Comm week launches with an inflatable human footbal table, CommSoc goodie bags giveaway and free sweets, in the Amphitheatre from 10am!!
The Mens And Ladies Comm Cup finals and our Schools Sports Day will be held in The Mardkye between 12 and 4. The School Sports Day will be a great day out and a chance to relive your primary school heroics in such events as egg and spoon races, three legged races and the 100m backwards sprint. This will be a team event with mixed teams of 4. The winning team will walk away with 4 Comm Ball AFTERS TICKETS
That night will be our J1 Visa themed American night with drinking games. Throw on your Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister and Aeropostale gear! We'll have great party games including Beer Pong, Flip Cup and A Special Mystery Game! We will also be replaying the days Comm Cup Finals with expert analysis and highlights. We will also present the winning teams with their medals. And watch out for the winning Ladies Comm Cup Winners as they will be very rowdy and aggressive!
The Night kicks off in Sober Lane from 8.00pm onwards and onto Club Classic.
Tuesday
Comm Charity Day
IN AID OF MARYMOUNT HOSPICE
The day starts with a Gladiator Ring in the Amphitheatre from 10am. Live DJ in the Amphitheatre between 1 and 2pm. There will be a Scavenger Hunt for Comm Ball AFTERS TICKETS in teams of two. Sign up for this event all this week in The Boole Basement from 12-2. We will also have a Wii competition in the New Bar with Live Music and the first ever Commerce Bingo Competition.
The night event is the Tramps and "Tramps" night. This is a night unlike any other you've ever experienced! The Ladies will be dressing like "Tramps" as in a Lady with loose morals! And the fellas will be dressing like Homeless! Dirty faces, Smelling like Urine and drinking Devils Bit! During the night we will have a "Trampsformation" where we will turn a lad into a "Tramp" and a lady into a Tramp! The night kicks off in Sober Lane at 8 and heads onto Club Classic.
Wednesday
Unofficial Old Bar Day
We have the Waxies playing in the Old bar around Lunchtime. Followed on by our and Annual "UCCs Got Talent" competition. We will be accepting all talents and the winner will receive €100. After the Talent Competition we will have the Commerce Quiz where the winning team of four will win 4 Full Ball Tickets
the its home to bed for a good nights rest before the Ball and Aftermath!
Thursday
The Commerce Ball
You Know The Drill!
On the night the there will be a Pre Party in the Classic from 5 onwards! The Full Ball Tickets will be leaving from 6.15pm outside The Courthouse and the 4th Year Class Photos will be taken at 7.15pm.
The Afters Pre Party will be kicking off from 8 onwards in the Classic. The Buses will leave at 10 also from outside the Courthouse.
The Ball should be an average night!
Friday
Aftermath
The Cure will be supplied in the Thirsty from 12.00 onwards. We'll have pizza and Karaoke and general banter!
Anyone who wants to start earlier leave a comment and we'll contact you and head for an early one or two!
We will have a limited supply of Full Tickets and sign up sheets for our School Sports Day, Scavenger Hunts and our UCCs got Talent all this week in the Boole Basement from 12-2

Cork City Student Pub Crawl9 Wochen herNext pub crawl is on this Tuesday the 20th of October. We're meeting outside the UCC Library at 20.15 same as last time.
Should be great craic again. We have an extra little deal on top of all our other deals. Instanbul are giving everybody on the crawl a 20% discount on all meal deals at the end of the night. We still have the usual drink deals and free food along the way plus free club entry.
