Iowan four-piece The Envy Corps signed to Vertigo Records in the autumn of 2006, made their live debut in the UK in the November…and released a somewhat beauty of an EP in March 2007. The Story Problem EP is a tasty appetiser for their debut album which is due for release in the summer...
The Envy Corps are Luke Pettipoole (vocals/guitar/piano), Scott Yoshimura (drums) and Brandon Darner (guitar). Luke founded the band in the Midwestern town of Ames, Iowa, various personnel changes eventually led to the group that stands before you now, with Scott joining the fold on drums and finally the addition of Brandon.
If you want to win a lovely Envy Corps vintage style tie (pictured here on the profile somewhere ----------> ) then just comment the band's page asking very very nicely and stating which one (colour) you like the most.
You can't buy these in the shops kids, they are completely exclusive to this competition.
Be the ENVY of your friends...5 Winners will be chosen soon.
PS - The album 'Dwell' is out on on April 21st....

The Envy Corps - Live at the BBC
Yesterday afternoon we all went into the Maida Vale studios at the BBC and recorded three tracks as a live band. All in all, a successful venture, the end result being the tracks played on Radio 1 this evening with an interview with Zane Lowe, who was a lovely chap with a good sense of humor and seems to really like what we're doing. Thanks, Zane.
The history of the studio room we were in was mind-boggling, and Brandon rushed to his room straight away when we got home to listen to his Led Zeppelin: Live at the BBC recordings just to get a feel for the innumerable important sessions that have taken place in it. Our engineers were really great guys and full of tales of McCartney and The White Stripes, and the stewards of some beautiful instruments and recording equipment. We ordered some pizzas, took a few naps on the couches, let it sink in... It felt like progress, I don't mind saying. We hope that you caught the broadcast today, and if you missed it, it will hopefully be archived starting tomorrow for a week or so. We'll also add some pictures of the place soon.
Thanks for reading. See you soon, I expect.
