- After playing Oxegen and Hard Working Class Heroes in 2008, The Cades are entering 2009 in preparation for the recording of their debut album and first Irish release. Born back in Feb "07 when four lads with a mutual hate for reality and sobriety decided to bite back on the shit pit that is life. Since this time the band have gone on to share stages with such acts as Republic of Loose, American rockers Rooney and Indie Favourites The Enemy.

"Songs in Mime"
Alright losers!
Jus filling yis in on where we are at the moment.
We're just tying up the loose ends of our latest EP "Songs in Mime". We've recorded it with Ciaran Thurlow (who else) and we're all really happy and proud of what we've got done so far. Thanks to Bipolar Empire for donating their rehersal space to us for the recording process! We're hoping to launch it in a few different venues in Dublin (an hopefully beyond) so we should have gig dates up as soon as we know them. So far we have The Village booked (The Murder Clues and Harrows confirmed as support) and we're looking at Whelans, Twisted Pepper and possibly The Spirit Store for the other dates. The gigs will promise some great supports also which will feature some of the Tallaght bands you all know and love. Keep your eyes out for our upcoming shows which will be added in due course. See you all at The Village, tickets will be on sale soon!

Smile with a lazy eye -
Ahoi hoi!
Hope this blog-age finds you well, Thought it time for an update to keep everybody in the loop. The studio went fantastic, We managed to learn so much about ourselvs as a band and indeed our sound, which is great as these type of learning curves are essential and we feel a much stronger band for it. We got a few tracks down that we are really happy with and are currently just putting them through the finishing process with mastering etc. We went in and re-recorded "Change your ways" too which is looking like its gonna be our debut single. Its was such a breath of fresh air to hear the new recordings. We kept the whole session as "Honest" as possible and used Vintage amps, 40 year old guitars and a 1964 kit. This suited us down to the ground may i add :-)
Anyways, there is gonna be a few weeks before we start announcing our plans for the single and dates etc but we'll be sure to keep you posted.
Until then we have decided we should give you all something new to hear, For friends of The Cades you will all know this song but it may not be the way you remember it. For everybody else the song is Called "Lazy eye" Something we decided to do in studio was have a track that was chilled out and laid back and not as hectic as alot of the others and we think we got just that in this song. Speacial thanks to Deco from The republic of loose for his fantastic work on the keys.

We would love to hear your feedback on this one, as its a complete change for us.

Itchy, flakey scalp? Releaved by T-gel!
How the hell are ya?
As I’m writing this blog I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement, actually excitement with a dash of Angst and a hint of nerves for good measure! There is such a big buzz gathering around the Tallaght scene at the moment it’s immense, What’s more, it’s amazing to be at the heart of it. Everybody has their heads down and is grafting away gigging their socks off writing/recording wonderful music. Where else would you rather be? Ok maybe in L.A with the Bipolar Empire lads but fuck it…they’ll be back next month so lads don’t get too comfortable yeah?? Every time I go online or head out in tallaght for a pint I feel it, it’s like a volcano about to erupt and it’s getting closer. This is our piece regarding The Cades contribution to help make this poxy thing Erupt. Tomorrow sees the day that we thought we’d never get to see, and that’s the first day of our recording for our Debut release. We’re hitting Sun studios with the leg-end that is Mr. Gareth Mannix; Gareth seems to be the most in demand producer in the country at present after having worked on albums with acts such as Republic of loose, Humanzi, The dirty Epics, the flaws and many others. Along side him as Co-Pilot will be music Guru and personal friend of ours Mr.Ger Kiely. Tomorrow see’s us in studio till early march working a few new recordings for your listening pleasure... we’re pretty fucking confident there gonna blow your heads off ;-)
We’ll make sure to get a few pics n stuff up and maybe a little bit of video footage if you’re interested to see what’s going down, Also we’ll be flooding here with updates n shit with our plans for the summer and release dates. We managed to get a good few names for the EP cover, Not half as many as we’d of wanted (which im pretty sure is our fault) so if anybody is still interested please get in touch – thecadesmusic@gmail.com
Lastly a big nice one to everyone who has been at all the gigs lately, your all fucking stars and we won’t forget it!
Let those good times Begin!
