- Electric Underground began in January 2007 with the idea to give independent producers a platform on which to perform. A passion for original music and the thrill of putting on live gigs summoned a need to provide the people of Cork with a new dimension to an already diverse scene. We have brought some seriously quality acts to cork in 2007 including Milanese, Beans, Bonobo, Neil Landstrumm, Williams, Legowelt, Boxcutter and many more and we intend to do even better in 2008. Electric Underground runs every Friday in the Liquid Lounge in Cork. Our MYSPACE is kept very up to date so check that out.

Syntheme (Planet Mu-UK) & Pet Shop Dave (Untz!) Friday 14th September-Liquid Lounge
Syntheme is Planet Mu's newest, youngest and hottest artist. She makes acid techno in vein of artists like Luke Vibert and Aphex Twin. She's 22 and based in the party city of Brighton. At only this young age she's already got 3 releases under her belt. She also releases stuff on Belgian label WeMe. She's set to release her first LP on Planet Mu early next year.
Here's a review of her last EP 'crazy dope acid tracks on planet mu. rumour has it this astonishingly fresh music is made by a 22 year old girl from brighton. whether that is true or not is neither here nor there. what is important is that these mutant acid disco rave bangers are among the finest sounds to come from planet mu in a wee while, and that is saying something, as they have generally been on a bit of a roll recently. top top stuff that will suit almost anyone who isn't a po-faced goon who doesn't like having fun. you need this record' - rubadub.co.uk

Pet Shop Dave is Irelands leading producer of acid(music). No laptops required for this caveman. He runs gigs with the now nearly legendary Untz! collective in Waterford. Fresh back from his set at the irish green gathering festival he has found a digeridoo(ist?) to his live show to help him blow your heads off. Many may remember him from previous electric underground gigs such as the one with Piratio. He's set to release an EP on Invisible agent in the near future.
We'll have an extra P.A. along with the house one for this gig so it's gonna be loud. Keeping the entrance fee to the usual 7euro, though it'll go up to 8euro after 12 so get there early.
Pre-party in the Twins O'Brien(ex lebowski's) next door from 8:30pm.

Fringe is a girl called Holly McGowan who has been making music for the past two and a half years. Her music has been described as glitchy, stringy, minimal and melodious. She began making music simply for the joy of the process, but once she discovered the website myspace and found that she could put music on a site that could be listened to all over the world,people began asking her to play gigs around Dublin.
The electronica collective The Alphabet Set were the first to approach her for a performance, and since then she has played a number or intimate shows in the city. She has spent the last two years gaining a degree in Animation from the Irish School of Animation with a short film called "Synesthesia", exploring the relationship between the audible and visible in an abstract form. She has recently released a free thirty minute download of music on the Alphabet Sets website ( www.alphabetset.net). She could be described as the leading female producer in Ireland at the moment and is definately gaining more and more popularity day by day. She also releases more dancefloor and housey stuff under the name 'minge'.

Liam Rowsome is a producer and techno dj hailing from Newcastle West, Co.Limerick. He has been based in Dublin for the last few years and used to release stuff under the name digital warfare alongside legendary dj/promoter/and producer redge. They played a string of gigs around Ireland and had various releases and remixes on the red label from Belfast.
Expect to hear the likes of stuff from the Warp Roster, along with some planet mu, minus and various other great labels.

Her name is Syntheme, she's only 22, she's on planet mu/weme and she's played at most of the English festivals this summer including Glastonbury, Glade and Reading. ASCIINOID BIOG:
In the mid 80's, Liam Dunne began programming bloops and squiggles on his Commodore 64, while dancing around the room to Herb Alpert on badly scratched vinyl. Piano lessons and guitars took up much of his teenage years, until he could afford to buy a PC and began collecting assorted synths, FX boxes and drum machines. The arrival of a laptop inspired him to take his music out of the bedroom and into pubs and clubs around Dublin. After producing and playing for a few years under his Lmd64 guise, his brand of sample-based lounge funk and house began to branch off into a more dancefloor orientated sound.
In mid 2006, he decided to focus on this aspect of his sound, bringing into being his alter-ego Asciinoid. He released his debut album 'Spectrum' on the SeedyR label in October 2006, which has received radio play around the world, from Belguim to Tijuana. In his live performances, he has played alongside James Holden, Gabriel & Dresden, CJ Bolland and Dan Curtin.

H3LX BIOG:
H3lx started DJing in 2000, with a few gigs coming less soon afterwards. Sets included the now defunct Escape @ Temple Theatre, where he played warmup in to several big name international guests, D.U.I., NoDJ, Liquid Soul and Convolution as well as guest radio slots on Energy 94. Kiss FM and Spin Fm.
Around 2001 he began to get more and more into the production line of things, following play on national radio, and international support from Italian DJ Joy Kitikonti for his earlier tracks around 2002. In 2003 he decided to take a sound engineering and music technology course at the Sound Training Centre in Dublin's Temple Bar Music Centre.
It was there that he began to get more and more into music production, and learned the techniques he could use to make the music he wanted to hear. His first release came in February of 2005, as part of a remix package for Joy Kitikonti's "Joydontstop 2005". At its peak, the record reached number 4 in the Tuneinn.com sales charts.
Following on from that release, he began to push myself more in terms of production techniques, aiming to create a sound which would be recognisable as his own.
Mid 2007 sees us with his new track Supersmashingbrilliant having just been released on SeedyBurnR, and a remix of Serversided - Who Got the Funk out in August on the same label, as well as his own tracks Naughty Weekend and 66 forthcoming on Localized Records in August, on top of some other projects in the pipeline.
