Yeah the line up is 'interesting' - definitely excited about My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Rós, the Breeders, Grinderman, Tindersticks, CSS, Conor Oberst, the Roots and a few others but there's a lot I don't know playing. I'm sure there'll be more added that we're familiar with and the thing is, you never get to see that many bands during the weekend, probably 10 or so at the most. There's so much other stuff going on and then you sometimes come across bands you don't know but you find interesting. do you know many going this year? I'm definitely not going to watch the Sex Pistols, not a fan.

the Cúirt International Festival of Literature is on at the moment here, it's brilliant, been to a few readings and have more to go to. so far i've seen Ian McEwan, MJ Hyland, Erwin James, Joseph O'Connor, Sunny Jacobs and John Lanchester. Sunny Jacob's was amazing, she spent 17 years in jail (5 of those in solitary confinement on death row) for a crime she didn't commit. she was eventually found innocent and released but it was too late for her partner who'd been found guilty too and was executed, he was innocent too. Such a horrific story, we were all in tears by the end of it! i think i need therapy just hearing about it. she was amazing though, not bitter but really grateful for what she had and really happy. the play 'Exonerated' features her story. so yeah, an interesting week here in Galway!!

Yup, galway's still treating me well, loving it at the moment coz all the summer festivals are kicking off. the Cúirt Literary Festival's on this week. Work's going well, was in germany a while back, no other work trips planned but can't really complain after getting to india and germany.

yeah, i've made quite a few summer plans for myself!! looking forward to madrid and italy. Probably go to barcelona as well coz ali will be there for the summer while paul's in australia. seriously looking forward to having a holiday, need something to look forward to when i'm working every day! That said, work's grand, everyone here gets on so well, it's good craic!

you'll definitely have to come visit me in galway when you get back!! will you be looking for work in dublin? Can't wait til you get back home! it feels like you've been gone for years! xxx
