- Model United Nations events simulate the real United Nations. In Model UN, students take on roles as foreign diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.

UNYANZ Auckland Model United Nations
The 2009 Auckland Regional High Schools Model UN will be held at the University of Auckland on the weekend of 28 and 29 March.
This 2 day conference will feature: 6 committees, a General Assembly plenary session on Sunday, and a social event for participants on the Saturday night.
Our 6 committees are Human Rights Council, UN Environment Program, Disarmament Commission, UNESCO, UN Development Program. Plus we have a special committee the ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia) for more experienced Model UN'ers.

Auckland Historical Model UN
UNYANZ Auckland is excited to announce that registrations are now open for its inaugural Historical Model UN. It will take place on Saturday August 9th at Diocesan School for Girls, Epsom. The Historical MUN is being held in place of the Model Security Council for 2008. The Historical MUN will however be centred on the Security Council.
For the Historical MUN delegates will be transported back to 1945 when the representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco at the United Nations Conference on International Organization to draw up the United Nations Charter. In teams of up to three people, delegates will represent a selection of the UN's 50 founding members who signed the original charter.
Any questions or queries can be sent to Emily Chai at auckland.treasurer@unyanz.co.nz. Registrations close on Saturday August 2nd but get your registrations in as early as possible as places are limited. Registration forms are available from www.unyanz.co.nz. John M, my father is in the UN, close to the top in the FAO subdivision, and he just happens to be a Capitalist, so explain how he is a socialist, communist, and a Nazi, when he is against all?
I just have a question, why does this group say 100% nerd, all of the members of the UN I have met are nothing close to being one.
The United Nations is not what you think. It was created by subversives and globalists such as the soviet agent Alger Hiss. It gives most of it's awards to Communist China in praise of it's brutal totalitarian regime that enslaves the Chinese and those people trapped in the autonomous zones. Heres a photo of former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kurt Waldheim when he was part of another totalitarian organisation that is very similar to the U.N. that you may have heard of, the Nazi's - Why trust an organisation that is full of socialists, communists and nazi's? The U.N. is like the mafia but the world government model for it. The U.N. is a criminal organisation that is part of a treasonous international criminal conspiracy.
