- Kíla were formed in 1987 in the Gaelscoil, Coláiste Eoin, Co. Dublin. They began as many aspiring Dublin musicians do, busking on the streets of Ireland's capital.
The Band began gigging in The Baggot Inn on a weekly basis and also continued busking while many of the bandmembers completed their education in Coláiste Eoin, which was and still is a breeding-ground for some of Ireland's top musicians of all genres.
From here, Kíla went from strength to strength, developing and maturing as individual musicians but more importantly as a group. Their uniquely appealing sound has enchanted music-lovers across the globe, which has allowed them to be well-received in all 26 countries they have played in to date. These countries include Belgium, Slovenia, Japan, Australia, France and Czech. Rep.
