The band would compete G4B I would assume. They would only be starting out even over here and I think that means they have to start in G5 (a rather disappointing US introduction for bands that presumably have only just seen instruments for the first time that week). They have a good sound and work well together and that is the main thing.

We have 14 pipers and 9 drummers in the police band and 16 pipers and 10 drummers in the fire dept band, so hopefully between them we can bring over and compete with a nice number. Maybe 10-12 pipers and 8 drummers.

Good luck for 2009, especially with the school stuff. That is great to hear.

The scene in Chicago is still going well. 2008 was a good year and included a performance with a Symphonic Orchestra and being made an honorary fire fighter in Chicago. Can't argue with that. 2009 should be a good 'un too. Hopefully in a couple of years we can bring over a combined Chicago Police and Fire PB to compete in the Worlds. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, just thought I'd chuck a wee hello your way.
