at development we made a pact that we'd never fall out

Alot of my memories of you involve some sort of fight

Cyril and Elaine are soo proud to have had one hell of a son
some more of my memories are of us pair at party's
especially our last one when we were up at young farky's
i challenged you on the mic to an MC contest

i hope you're coping well up there with luke in heaven
its goin to be tough to get by for quite a while

we spoke non-stop about your Taarn and my Jenny
We were both real suckers for jealousy
we spoke about how we couldnt stand them even talking to another guy

i remember our old tradition at the rink on a friday night
us both in our bear USA tops, the blue ones with white
Constantly i look back to our past in despair
Then i think of the future and i know ull still be there
from where you sat in the room to your banter on the bus
no matter what was goin on you always managed to create a fuss
Knowing ill never see you again is hard to get into my head
Sometimes i sit and think i wish it was me instead
its been an honour to grow up with you from kids to young men
I really would do anything to do it all again
i use to spell your name wrong and u shouted at me
"its johnston with a T and doesnt end in an E"
im trying to keep everyone right about that, just for your sake
but c'mon pal, its an easy mistake to make
i remeber the last time i did it you shook your head and tutted
to lose someone like you buddy, im well and truly gutted

but knowing you i think u'd let me away with it just this time
