Shoot The Pump, This Saturday night.... ONLY £5
After a riotously good time in the GRV last month, The Shoot The Pump shock troops are girding their loins for another installment of Edinburgh's favourite disco meets house party on Saturday June 7th.
Ressie selectors Nick and Gareth will be playing slo mo cosmic patter early doors, 80's boogie, disco rarities and re-edits, house music like they used to make it, techno like they made it last week - all mixed up into a nocturnal cure all for clubland's electrohouse blues.
The last one was double tops, benefitting from the improved sound in the main room and an ace crowd of our mates. Get on the disco train...

Workshop is a brand new series of one-off events due to take place at a variety of locations around Edinburgh through the summer of 2008 and beyond.
Joining them for this debut party is one of the UK’s most on form djs/producers, James Priestley.
James, along with Giles Smith, is behind London institution Secret Sundaze. SS has been awarded the UK’s Best Club by Mixmag, Time-Out and Faith since it kicked off a little over 5 years ago and has seen them take their party international, rocking spots as varied as Barcelona, Moscow, Rio, Tokyo, Berlin and of course Ibiza. This meteoric rise also coincided with the minimal explosion in Europe and although the duo certainly embraced this new sound, they never forgot their roots as, in James’ own words, “deep house and techno” djs. This attitude is perfectly illustrated in their excellent first official mix cd Secret Sundaze – Volume 1 which was released in 2007 to universal acclaim.

James’ production career has really rocketed after signing to Will Saul’s excellent Simple label last year with his debut release ‘Chariots’ getting championed by some of the top jocks around including Carl Craig, Ricardo Villalobos and Steve Bug and his current to-do-list includes re-working house legend Robert Owens latest album on Compost. Having experienced the Secret Sundaze vibe at various spots over the years, we at Workshop are very excited to welcome James up for his Edinburgh debut.
Bar vibes will be held down by local disco-bod Craig Reid.

Shoot The Pump is a new night from the Nick Yuill of Solescience infamy and Ultragroovers Gareth Sommerville & Frazer McGlinchey. Housed in the cosy confines of Edinburgh’s hottest newest venue (the 300 capacity GRV), Shoot The Pump aims to deliver an ass shaking mix of underground disco from days of yore, cutting edge electronic funk and a smattering of cosmic disco, with a few sonic surprises along the way.
Think Prelude meets DFA meets Fidelity and you are half way there, but most of all, think PARTY! As the boys look to emulate the special atmosphere synonymous with their separate house nights, but with a very distinct soundtrack.

However, its now time for residents Liam Goldie & tonykeo to take over again in November and as always they'll be smashing up the Speakeasy, OUR HOUSE style !!
So, if you like your house music and like it funky, jackin, vocal, disco tinged or even a wee bit dirtier, then you'd definitely be better off in OUR HOUSE than yours so get your ass down !!
