Ok, so maybe it's not a big deal yet, but this is important, it's huge and it barely gets 30secs of news coverage. People need to know.

Been watching the news lately? Then you should know about the terror suspects on the lam. If you don't...well take a guess. Some head-honchos behind terror operations in the UK have evaded survelience and are supposedly making their way to Iraq. As such, a manhunt is occuring in England for these guys. However (this is the really important part) John Reid says the police do not have enough power to keep them locked up after being caught - they merely go under survelience again. So, he is proposing that the UK temporally withdraws from the EU Civil Rights act and removes the "Right to Liberty" in Human Rights Law. That basically means bye-bye fair trial, you're giong to prison indefinitely.

So, it's just catching terrorists right? They SHOULD be locked up all along, right?

Wrong. Wake the fuck up.

As I said before, this has barely gotton 30 seconds of news coverage so far, and they mention it once an hour on BBC News. Dosen't that seem just a little small to you? What have thay got to hide? Well, John Reid never mentioned that safety net word - temporary. Now you start to see where I'm coming from?

How do you find him? Before he does something tragic? Police guess. And most of the time, they catch them. A credit to themselves and this country, to be sure. But they are only human, and they make mistakes.

In the old days, they would have to prove you were a terrorist in a court of law. They would have to prove you wanted to blow the shit out of something and it was just a trial run, and that was why there was just papers in your briefcase.

Terrorism acts mean a non-arguable 6 weeks in jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200. But at least you were free eventually.

Look, I'm not saying this is the end of democracy and freedom right now, but it's putting me on edge. It's starting to get to totalarian for my liking. I can deal with being caught on camera 300 times a day. I can even deal with being thrown in jail for 6 weeks for looking shady. But for life? Cos I wore the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time?
