      Craig Levein took over at Tannadice on 30 October 2006 on a two and a half year deal.

      Craig Levein gained 16 full international caps for Scotland before injury brought a premature end to his playing career. He soon made a name for himself in a coaching capacity and had highly successful managerial spells at Cowdenbeath and Hearts, where he took the Club to third in the SPL whilst implementing major cost reduction measures. He left Hearts for Leicester City and has recently been assisting Raith Rovers on a non contract basis. Craig had an agreement with the Kirkcaldy club that meant he could leave if a suitable offer be received.
