- A YOUNG teacher collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack during a game of rugby.
Andrew Dawson - whose father Hamish played rugby as an international for Scotland - was holding the ball during a maul when he fell to the ground clutching his shoulder.
Players from both teams tried to resuscitate 27-year-old Mr Dawson on the pitch before paramedics arrived.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital but was pronounced dead.
Mr Dawson, who was a geography teacher at the Matthew Arnold School, in Cumnor, Oxford, had been playing for Oxford Harlequins on Saturday afternoon when tragedy struck.
Doctors later said he had died instantly and that there was nothing anyone could have done to save him.
