I know I know I havent done an update on much recently theres still the Tonights The Night and then John Barrowmans concert. But as most of you know I'm in the process of sorting my house out to put it on the market as its only 4 months till I start college in England!!! I can't believe it! So I'm so sorry to all of you guys who are trying to talk to me on bebo or those that are trying to meet up with me over the next few weeks I don't mean to ignore you but I've just got so much that needs doing, but once its done normal yacking will resume lol.

I got in *big cheesy grin* doing Acting for New Media.

Below is a copy of my course content and I'm so excited (as some of you already know and may want to kill me.)

This entirely new course is a departure from traditional acting training. In response to the developments over the last century and in particular the last ten years in performance media, there is a call for a course which equips acting students with the skills to perform live and on film with the many different media forms with which we now work. This course is an intensely practical vocational training in the skills required to become a rounded modern screen and stage actor, studying theoretical and practical disciplines.

In the first year you will study basic skills and theory that will enable students to make full use of various different media types from an actor’s perspective. You will learn many similar skills to students on a traditional acting course, but with more focus on screen media and theory.

In the second year you will undertake a succession of projects focusing on different areas of performance involving media. These will include small screen acting, live stage performance with multimedia (as seen regularly now in mainstream theatre), and performance within a green screen and motion capture format (as used now for CGI in many major films and television dramas). You will graduate with live performance experience, a showreel film from one of your media projects, and an understanding of the requirements of your profession in the new century.

Content

All modules will include written assignments. However, a great proportion of the work you will undertake will be practical.

Modules may include:-

• Critical and Film Theory
• The Spoken Word (Voice Training, Recording and Radio skills)
• Improvisation
• Acting (Live scripted performance)
• The Physical Performer (Physical Theatre, Stage Combat – Motion Capture and Green Screen)
• Theatre Installation Skills (Live Performance with Media and Multimedia)
• Mime and Puppetry
• Professional and Industry Practice
• Camera Performance

Amersham Campus has a 120 seat theatre and a smaller drama studio, and at Chesham a large drama/dance studio. In addition, our rehearsal/teaching space comprises two smaller studios, a lecture room and black box drama studio. The College also has a fully equipped TV Studio, location filming facilities, a brand new Motion Capture studio equipped with industry standard facilities and all recording, editing and rendering facilities necessary to produce the work you will be creating.

Employment / progression

It is possible to progress to a number of one year BA(Hons) options, which will enable you to apply for postgraduate courses at specialist drama and music colleges or to audition for work within the arts and media industries.

Well met up with Shar and Vivienne in Glasgow and well had a laugh on the smut filled bus trip. Managed to doze off for a bit which is probably why I'm still standing! Met Debs in Birmingham, cheeky foreign lassies behind us who had dumped their bags on various seats then huffed when we asked them to move them then when we wanted to sit in the back refused to put their seats forward. Grrrr. Got to London first port of call Starbucks! Then Vivienne discovered she might not get in with her Jeans on! So mad dash to try and find her trousers but Next wasn’t selling anything till 12pm it was only open for "browsing"!! How stupid is that!

Eventually we get to Television Centre around 12:30 so we park ourselves and well wait and wait...wait...some BBC staff come out and ask us to fill out little questionnaires and take your photo with your friend. This was for VIP seats. Basically people who are scattered around the audience that later John Barrowman will shout up and reveal something about them from the questionnaire, a secret or an embarrassing moment. Then there was more waiting...waiting and so on. Eventually we started inside and after some flirty banter with the French security guard we had to go through security checks. After shouting for Shar to set off the machine we headed inside the building passing a TARDIS on the way in! Once inside first order of business was to get a seat that wasn’t the floor! Then drinks and cake. Shar after booking a taxi calmed down, she’d been paranoid we’d miss our bus back. She then got a little hyper, don’t know if that’s from lack of sleep or the Bulmer’s....maybe both. Vivienne was back at writing her fan fiction. Debs and I head off to get a photo with the Dalek and then outside in, yes I said in the TARDIS! The door opened on this one so you could get a photo coming out the TARDIS so great.

When we finally got into the studio, OH MY GOD. The studio was huge, the set amazing, the number of lights on the rig. And from what I know about Television Centre that was an average sized studio! Just made me think more about my course for next year and I can’t wait (see my next blog coming up about what I’ll be doing on my course). The buzz in the place was amazing. Then the usual, we had someone out to entertain us till the show started (can’t mind the guys name) but as with The Kids Are Alright, John came out coffee and water in hand to say hi. The entertainer came up next to John saying what shade was the performer today and held up a brown colour chart next to Johns face. Even John had to admit that was funny. For those who don’t know, Johns skin colour changes often, whether its fake bake or he’s on holiday he goes from his good ol’ Scottish pale to dark brown. They had us up “getting limber” doing some silly dance moves, and John joined in shaking his ass......sorry was picturing it there again. John opened the show singing Rhythm of The Night (From Moulin Rouge) the lyrics had been changed slightly for Tonight’s The Night. I don’t think it was his best.

Now I’m not going to tell you about the performances but there was a couple of good ones and one amazing one. There was something I found rather pointless and well defied the point of the show in my opinion. If you want to know what happened there you need to just watch, estimated airing on 16th May at around 7pm, now this might not happen as it’s the same weekend as the Eurovision so might be delayed a week or aired earlier in the day.
When the entertainer asked where people had travelled for, we shouted Glasgow and again are we speaking French? He said he couldn’t understand us, so again we shouted Glasgow, he then turned to John and said, John there’s some of your lot from Glasgow and John waved, though he was preoccupied people fixing make up giving him water and I’m sure he had someone talking in his ear piece.
