Launch Forth Into The Depths.
I'm Joe, commonly known as Mono to all. I'm in Sixth Form, taking Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and History. Should be fun
I can do music and drama, and I play guitar, piano and saxophone.
To mention my wonderful friends, I really couldn't wish to be associated with a nicer, kinder, more intelligent, generally amazing group of people. You know who you are, and if you don't, you could check down there
. When the time comes to leave you all, it's going to be tough. Miss Cathrine already anyway
If you want more information, have a look to the right. Otherwise, here are some general statements:
Parties are awesome.
Glowsticks hurt.
Matt Bellamy is a cool guy.
Quintus is immortal.
Electrostatic Toast Rave! (In-Joke!)
Terrence.
If you want my msn, ask for it.
- Music
- Love music, playing and listening. I can live with almost anything except rap, dance, hip-hop and r&b. So long as it's got some decent singing in, although I do like a bit of screaming/growling/roaring/wh
atever, but only in moderation. Epic music is best. Favourites at the moment: MUSE!!!, Lostprophets!!, Fightstar, Nightwish, The Rasmus and The Calling.
Favourite album at the moment: "Black Roses" by The Rasmus. - Films and TV
- Dodgeball, LOTR, Johnny English, Cool Runnings, The Hogfather, not much else. Oh, and the Monty Python films are awesome! I'd like to see Batman: The Dark Knight and Wall-E at the moment. Talking TV as well, I like Blackadder, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, anything cleverly funny. Plus of course Doctor Who and Torchwood. And I do like a good Poirot.
- Sports
- Not so much into sports nowadays, but still... Liverpool FC (partially Reading too), Newbury RFC. I've got favourites everywhere. Like playing football, rugby, hockey, pretty much everything except TENNIS! I'm extremely crap at that.
- Scared Of
- Heights. It's the falling off that gets me. Also, people with large knives or other dangerous things.
And after much deliberation, I've decided I'm scared of deep water too. Oh, and James doing his annoying thing with his tendons in his hands... bastard. - Happiest When
- With friends, anywhere really, and also when at something amazing like a rock concert (Kasabian/The Fratellis, 19th December 2006; Jet, 10th March 2007; Muse, 17th July 2007; Air Traffic, 26th January 2008; Enter Shikari, 24th October 200
. PARTIES! - Friends
- Really, you guys are FUCKING AMAZING. I couldn't wish for a better load of friends. Anyway...
Ronan and Ben I've known for 11 years, it's been awesome. Heather, Cathrine and Ola are amazing people, great to talk to (I miss you Cathrine
) Alex and James, Hungerfordians and great guys. The rest of the guys are great too, Julian, Sam, Minchin, Richard and Brownie. As are the other girls, Eleanor, Elly, Eva, Emily, Georgia and Karina. That's the main ones but I've probably forgotten some others. If you're in my friends list, you most probably are my friend. (Or I at least don't hate you...) Top friends are now in vaguely the right order, but it's too difficult, so sod it..
- Views
- Politically, I'd say I'm a tad left wing, so Labour-ish, but I don't support any political party; I'm a monarchist; I believe that people should have the right to do pretty much as they will, so long as it does nothing to directly harm anyone else; I'm against the death penalty in all cases; I think that life sentences should mean life; I believe that euthanasia is acceptable, except when the person in question is in jail, then they should serve their sentence; I'm an atheist; I believe there is a definable structure to the Universe, not that the Universe is random.

Possibly the only thing that can make me angry at all times.
The following lines are quotes from representatives or founders of Westboro Baptist Church, possibly the most disgusting fundamentalist group I have come across. I can't actually understand how people can think in this way.
Just to give you an idea of these guys' ideas, their website is called godhatesfags.com. They're well known in America for picketing the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
From "Louie Theroux's The Most Hated Family In America":
Shirley Phelps: "God hates fags, God hates fag enablers, therefore God hates America and all of her military."
Shirley: "If you see a nation or a people who have risen up with one voice to say that it's OK to be gay, you're looking at a doomed people. Those people have crossed the line. When you say "gay pride," you obviously have given over any trace or any notion that you're going to admit that you're sinning."
Steve Phelps: "She [Princess Diana] split hell wide open when she died. She's a fag enabler, and she'll be in hell for all of eternity."
Louis: "Did you rejoice yesterday when that church burned down?"
Steve: "You're supposed to rejoice over all of God's judgements."
Louis: "And do you rejoice when soldiers die in Iraq?"
Steve: "Absolutely, I do."
Louis: "And do you rejoice when people are knocked over by cars and they get cancer?"
Steve: "Absolutely, I love it. And I can tell you right now because it's the righteous judgement of God almighty."
During the filming of this programme, the WBC were filmed picketing a local appliance store because the store "sold Swedish vacuum cleaners" and the Swedish government had recently imprisoned a pastor for preaching against homosexuality.
Other incidents:
On January 15 2006, WBC members protested the memorial of 2006 Sago Mine disaster victims claiming that the mining accident was God's revenge against America for its tolerance of homosexuality. Footage of the protest, including several members dancing, was later shown on Fox News.
On May 14, 2008, two days after the deadly 2008 Sichuan earthquake, they issued a press release thanking God for the great earthquake that caused heavy loss of life in China, and "pray for many more earthquakes to kill many more thousands of impudent and ungrateful Chinese". In the article they also called Chinese people "vile oriental [sic] ingrates", and declares that "God hates China".
When leading a protest at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1996, Fred Phelps, the founder of WBC, stated:
"Whatever righteous cause the Jewish victims of the 1930s-40s Nazi Holocaust had... has been drowned in sodomite semen. American taxpayers are financing this unholy monument to Jewish mendacity and greed and to filthy fag lust. Homosexuals and Jews dominated Nazi Germany.... The Jews now wander the earth despised, smitten with moral and spiritual blindness by a divine judicial stroke.... And God has smitten Jews with a certain unique madness... Jews, thus perverted, out of all proportion to their numbers energize the militant sodomite agenda... Jews are the real Nazis."
In July 2005 the Westboro Baptist Church declared its intention to picket the memorial service of Cpl. Carrie French in Boise, Idaho. French, aged 19 years old, was killed on June 5 in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk, where she served as an ammunition specialist with the 116th Brigade Combat Team's 145th Support Battalion. Her death is seen by the church as divine punishment of the United States. Fred Phelps was quoted as saying, "Our attitude toward what's happening with the war is [that] the Lord is punishing this evil nation for abandoning all moral imperatives that are worth a dime."
If anyone reading this agrees with any of the above, just fuck off. I don't see how you can actually treat your fellow humans like that and still trying to take that fucking moral high ground.7 Kommentare 415 Tage

EPIC.
Somewhere out there in the vast nothingness of space...
Somewhere far away in space and time...
Staring upward at the gleaming stars in the obsidian sky...
We're marooned on a small island, in an endless sea,
Confined to a tiny spit of sand, unable to escape.
But tonight,
On this small planet,
On Earth,
We're going to rock civilization.0 Kommentare 436 Tage

Mono - Fightstar
If time can break us down,
And not keep us around,
I won't wait.
I won't mind,
Not this time.
I've started up the clocks,
It's time I left behind,
And everything we've lost,
Disappears.
(I'm calling, I'm calling out,
For answers on the long walk home.)
I've started up the race,
It's something I can't change,
And now we're not the same.
I'm running past the words,
To finish up the faults,
(Can't come back.)
Because I won't wait,
(Won't live like that.)
Not this time.
I've started up the clocks,
It's time I left behind,
And everything we've lost,
Disappears.
(I'm calling, I'm calling out,
For answers on the long walk home.)
I've started up the race,
It's something I can't change,
And now we're not the same.
(I'll find myself once more again.)
I've started up this race,
It's something I can't change,
Now we're not the same.
(I can't help by myself again.)0 Kommentare 584 Tage

Unfortunately, I will almost certainly be going into Sainsbury's all day wednesday for induction sessions should I choose to work there, if you stayed over, you would have to catch the 8.04 train with me in the morning which would be quite annoying for you I expect, sorry about that.
Well, I would imagine that we would go to a restaurant, from then on i was thinking Harrods, that's always good fun and will take up a lot of time. As for anything else, it's completely up to you. -
