I am of Niuean(mum) and Tongan(dad) descent. Therefore I am half Rock and half Horse . I was born and raised in Mangere and I am the youngest of three children.
Myself:
There are stories people have about growing up in South Auckland and some of the hardships a lot of us faced. I too can relate to these stories. I know what it is like to come from a broken home with only one parent and one income. I too witnessed domestic violence at the expense of not only my mum, but me and my older siblings too.
I didn't do well at school but now as an adult understand the idea that education opens many doors. I can only hope my nephews and nieces make use of this great opportunity my grandparents sought when they left Niue.
