"Bullitt For Pablo were formed in June 2006 by Barry Honeyman and Chris McKeown after searching long and hard for a highly skilled drum machine, before locating Calum McNinch and later, the funky bass groover, Nick Cheetham. Orignally called Zephyr, the band were looking to develop a new sound incorporating their classic rock and grunge influences, with an upbeat and energising combination of pounding beats, intuitive lyrics and classic blues rock riffs. Live Review - Bullit for Pablo @ ABC2
It’s Friday night and ABC2 is brimming with a motley crew of music fans, from teenage girls harboring fake IDs and patented ‘rock chick’ hair cuts, to long haired, black T– shirted metal boys. The crowd is here to shake off the horrors of the week and get a live taste of a band who can count Teenage Fanclub among their admirers. The band burst on to the stage and launch into a set of loud, energetic rock that’s as well presented as the band members themselves. The band have incorporated a variety of musical styles into a lean, clean rock sound punctuated with classic riffs and vocals that invite instant sing a longs. A kazoo makes a guest appearance, as does a blonde, tambourine-wielding Russell Brand type. A dash of softer, more emotionally-driven melodies shows the band’s range but it’s energetic rock anthems like ‘My Name is Revolution’ that the band has mastered, and their knack for penning catchy anthems and irresistible hooks brings to mind acts such as The 1990’s and the Fratellis. The set comes to a close and the audience is won over, the music conducting the enthusiasm of the band and hitting the punters like a playful slap on the behind. Bullitt for Pablo leave the crowd with that wonderful Friday feeling, where it seems like anything is possible, even though the reality might be crippling hangovers and curling championships on the telly. Last Gig with current line up
Dear all
I wanted to thank everybody who has followed us and shown us consistent support over the last 2 years during the birth of bullitt. It is with great sadness that the band has reached a crossroads and Calum and Nic have both decided to move on to pastures new. I would like to wish the guys all the best with their endeavours.
With regards to the next step for Bullitt, we are taking a bit of time to write some new tunes and have some band members lined up with a view to getting some summer gigs on the schedule.
It has been a good time and we have enjoyed the time but everything changes eventually and we are no different.
We hope to bring you more news in the summer with our next adventure.
